With that painting I might be able to get a single piece of bread! What a deal! Lol

Amazing tip! The best ideas are the simple ones that make me wonder how I didn't think of it lol

Newb Artist Pride lol. In all seriousness, I take that as a very big compliment. Flag design is hard and if it looks like a flag it must be a good painting!

I'll need to look into that. I've only ever used regular canvas (and never even heard of gesso). That idea of painting the base layer over the tape is genius! The best ideas are always the ones that make me wonder how I never thought of that lol

Thank you! I plan to, I have some uncovered walls and have already promised some Christmas presents lol

Exactly as you did it: I stopped doing the full round for a few rows, then continue after the hole is large enough. I also did more than I should have, and earlier than I should have, but knit stuff is basically a fabric so some regular sewing can be used to correct mistakes if you are careful.

Slugs often have multiple protrutions on their heads, the issue is that they are not all eyestalks. The mistake is simple and understandable, but its the same idea of drawing a cat with eyes on each whisker.

I... recognize a few of those words!

In all seriousness thank you so much for the advice! I'll definitely research what each of those stitches are before my next attempt, it will be nice not having the whole thing roll up on me.

Also no it wasn't intentional, I literally bought a loom kit and googled how to knit a scarf and just did the first thing I saw haha. We all have to start somewhere!

She was oddly happy to wear it, usually she hates wearing clothes. I'll need to make her one, just a lot shorter so she can't tangle herself in it when she rolls around.

I'm with you there, my mom loves scarfs but when I wear them I just look like I broke my neck and was all out of casts haha.

If vector art was used, or the outlines were placed/adjusted algorithmicly, this is a relatively normal effect caused by a bad path or stray vertices. While it could have been touched up with AI, I'd personally give the benefit of the doubt on this one

On its own, I would call that dismissive. Generally, I would say that "negativity that does not needlessly affect others" is more about adding to the discussion in a healthy but negative way. Personal anecdotes, pushing for future positive action, simple sympathy/empathy, or even the below part of my comment, would be what I would put under this category.

Sadly, I don't think it is possible to have rigid objective categories due to the subject of this community. But that was my thoughts.

I don't frequent this community, so please take what I say with a grain of salt, but I'm not seeing many bars/criteria which is what is being requested so I'll throw in my two cents.

\1. If it is reasonable context or updates the average person would want/need, then it should be allowed.

Examples:

"It's great the old lady recovered from her fall down the stairs, but unfortunately, a few hours after this article, she fell down again : ("

"She fell down the stairs because the step height was inconsistent, that needs to be fixed ASAP."

\2. If it is pointed, hostile, or drumming up anger, it should NOT be allowed.

Examples:

"It's the Radical Escalator Group that weakened stair legislation!"

"She should have been more careful. This is clearly on the old lady."

\3. If it is dismissive of the good news or tries to make people feel bad for enjoying the good news, it should NOT be allowed.

Examples:

"Sure SHE recovered, but what about the hundreds of stair fall victims who don't?"

"How does this help anyone?"

"If you don't check the stairs you use and report bad stairs, this is your fault, and you shouldn't be celebrating her recovery."

\4. General negativity that does not needlessly effect others should be allowed.

Examples:

"My grandma fell down the stairs too. Hoping for a recovery"

"My stairs are all messed up too, but sadly I rent, so I can't fix them..."

"This will likely happen again. We should make sure the needed resources for recovery are available, or the next one might not end so happily."

I do think the only punishment should be removal and a warning, but I do not mod, so I'll leave that discussion to the experts.

Dang it, cocoa instead of coffee... That's alright. It still has caffeine just a lot less, like chocolate. May not be a large reaction, but I'll still be taking notes! Unfortunately, I don't recall if we ever see Vee or any other demon eating chocolate, so it will be tough to compare...

Previous experiments. I believe they are called Three and Four. Vee is called that since she was Five and V is the roman numeral for five. Basically older siblings of Vee

Interesting thing to note: fire prone brushlands, which are often included in the public coloquial idea of savanna, are one of the few ecosystems with a comparable biodiversity to rainforests. Also, the difference between jungle and rainforest is that the tangle of undergrowth is larger, and sunlight is more able to breach the canopy, fueling that undergrowth. So, if we were willing to stretch these ideas to the absolute extreme, we could argue that the savanna - with fire prone brushlands included - is a jungle due to the heavy "undergrowth" fueled by the sunlight breaching an EXTREMELY sparse canopy.

Or if we want to stick to reality, we can just accept the title is a bit of a misnomer lol

on Coffee [MoringMark] · c/theowlhouse · 15 pts · 1y

Ok, so Mark's coffee lore is getting intricate.

We know coffee effects witches differently. We know a stronger coffee can knock out a witch. We also know Amity enjoys coffee. We also know it isn't just a difference in how it is made since Luz made regular coffee for Amity and probs wouldn't have made it super different.

So what makes sense would be that Amity doesn't drink coffee to stay awake but to relax. Since the active compounds must be the same (since nothing else about the drink seems to change), caffeine must be a depressant for Witches instead of a stimulant.

Now Hunter has the effect of coffee as a stimulant. So either this is how Grimwalkers in general are affected, OR sine Hunter is a Grimwalker made from Humanity he is affected like a human.

Now we need Jay to drink coffee and have a strong reaction so we can know if it is a Grimwalker thing. Also, it would be interesting to see how it affects Demons, Titans, and Collectors.

I want to say there was a comic where she revealed that she knew everything that was going to happen but literally couldn't do anything to stop it because of how her magic worked, and it looked to be driving her a tad crazy. Sadly, I can't find it right now. Maybe it was a different oracle, though we don't have a ton of options lol
