I think it's more of a thing philosophically said when talking about how modern life is so different and unnatural compared to the lives of ancient people or animals.
They say relative velocity because from our relative perspective they do appear to be moving away from us. It also works when the object is stationary and you are moving towards it or away from it because from your relative position it's the thing moving away from or towards you.
Doppler shift is based on relative velocity, the result of red shift is that stuff which is moving away fast enough to produce red shift is far away by virtue of being fast and stuff and stuff that is blue shifted needs to be far away or it will collide with you very quickly or just pass you by.
The relative velocities required for doppler shift are pretty high speeds so you normally observe it in stuff that's far away, but distance isn't really a requirement for doppler shift to happen or be observed.
Ah so I take it this is likely a replacement for the current process they use to make instant coffee. Which I know is usually brewed in industrial sized percolators. If that's the case I definitely think it would improve the favor.

I feel like OP is trying to use science to justify the current militarized borders and state appointed violence against the people who cross them. It's a terrible comparison because natural territory boundaries are nothing like that. No creature in the animal kingdom has crap like I.C.E. and Border Patrol.
It's not really that weird, root beer used to be made using sassafras bark and yeah that's toxic in large amounts too.
Also fun fact, you can eat the inner bark of most pine trees, particularly white pines. It doesn't taste great but it could easily be a source of food in an emergency.

That would raise the sea level almost as fast, and probably more than if the polar ice caps just melted on their own. Also didn't it come from a comet? Last I checked comet ice isn't the cleanest ice, it's full of fun stuff like ammonia, cyanide, and formaldehyde.
Yeah before people in America made a big stink about it and said it'lll turn you crazy or into a mexican, or whatever racist unscientific garbage excuse they made to start a moral panic to make it illegal, people smoked or otherwise consumed cannabis. I think his intention with the next one is to make it shorter (eliminate the section in the middle) since it doesn't need to be as long as it is. So the final one will likely take up significantly less space.
It also definitely needs to have gentler curves so the veggies can be pushed through easier.
Or it's likely a mini-Neptune type planet with more atmosphere than ground and therefore likely won't have complex life at all. Or complex life able to try and do that.
