Just tried this and couldn't reproduce. I thought it might be to do with the context - e.g. if the person had been referred to with female pronouns already, but couldn't get anything from that, either. I then did a few other experiments to check that it was working.
In German, there is a correction for the sentence about Martha, but not for the sentence about Marcus, which is all correct. In English, there is no correction for Mary even though I refer to her inconsistently within a couple of sentences - so maybe this has been special-cased since the screenshot.
How does that work? Bicarb will neutralise acid, i.e. sour flavours, but sour is a desirable flavour in a tomato. And bicarb is itself bitter if it doesn't react.
Wow, (potentially) omitting vectors seems like a big gap. Obviously it has huge direct practical use, but it's probably also the first introduction to how you can take a structure and augment it with operations. In that way it's the first step on the road to abstract mathematics.

The neat thing about complex numbers defined this way is that you don't need to understand quotient spaces because under addition ℂ is already isomorphic to ℝ²!
Yeah, I think it causes unnecessary difficulties. I actually think they're introduced at a time when you could instead teach them as two-dimensional vectors with pointwise addition and a special multiplication and division rule, and prove that (0, 1)×(0, 1) = (-1, 0) using that rule, so that sqrt(-1, 0) = (0, 1).
Then you can establish a convention that you write (a, b) as a + bi (and i = (0, 1)).
This is too abstract for younger students, but nowadays I don't think they learn complex numbers anyway, and I think it would be less spooky for the older students.
I haven't done any scientific comparison of the two groups, and I'm not a member of both groups either so I can't speak from personal experience either... however, from what I understand, fallible though that may be, it's simply a combination of the per capita rate, combined with it being pretty easy to get on grindr, hit up a gay bar, or whatever.
As a result, the relevant comparison isn't "number of potential partners in the whole population" but "proportion of potential partners in a population I can narrow down to, provided that population is big enough." Say there are 1,000 gay men on grindr in a town, and 20,000 straight women on tinder in the same town. What I think is true is that a higher proportion of those people on grindr are DTF with some rando than of the women on tinder, so your practical experience as a gay or straight man looking for a no-strings shag will be different.

Look up the timings and set an actual timer. Make sure your cookware is up to temperature before adding anything. Have enough experience to know how long everything else needs, so that you add your seafood at the right moment.
Scallops take very little time to cook, but a lot of seafood is more forgiving.
Also the danger of undercooking seafood is parasites rather than like salmonella. Good quality seafood is safe to eat raw - the stereotype of bad seafood giving you the shits is (as far as I understand) due to the ingredient itself being tainted.
