Talarico stands a waaaay better shot of stealing votes from republicans. You would hope the repudiation of this administration is strong enough that either of them could win handily but it’s Texastan we are talking about. Talarico is a white christian man, even if he is not quite the right kind of Christian for most of them.

Plus, I think he has a better stance on Palestine than Crockett.

These are not…competent people. In fact, until we get our collective shit together and start pushing back as a nation, our only hope is that they are ultimately too fucking stupid to fascism.

While they are spectacularly moronic, and predictably childish and incompetent, we need a better strategy than hoping they will defeat themselves.

But boy are they fucking dumb. It would be hilarious if actual civilization weren’t at stake.

I have only been trying to clarify your view and there is no strawman so if you see that as somehow hostile or adversarial then that is very much a problem you will carry with you after I’ve forgotten this exchange.

Peace to you.

That is very kind of you. I am a strong reader; in fact I’m not too humble to mention that I was the recipient of multiple Pizza Hut Personal Pan Pizzas in my youth, as recognition for my excellent reading skills, and so it is touching for you to recognize it.

My fellow strong readers will be well aware that there are multiple ways for a country to cease existing. Some peaceful, and some violent.

As thoroughly insightful, erudite, and compellingly written as that gem of a comment was, it did not specify. And given your server, it seemed prudent to seek specifics.

Thank you for the helpful response.

It depends on if you are talking about the entity or the people in the entity.

If the former, I do not disagree. There need not be states at all in fact, as a matter of preference.

If you are talking about the people, well, it sounds like you are talking about more death and destruction so no thanks.

For me it’s at work where we don’t acknowledge what’s really happening and it is starting to drive me a little mad.

I work in a very diverse workforce, but for a very old fashioned company, and politics are not spoken of.

But I am surrounded by immigrants and people who are probably here on work visas, or are just dark skinned, and I have to think they are living with a constant background fear that is steadily rising but they never talk about it and I never say anything. I have a whole cycle of shame with it.
