AOC has a fanbase, but I don't think she has the institutional support. Not talking about the DNC, but about unions and other organizations that make up a huge part of the get-out-the-vote machine for the left.
You say that as if you know the setup of how computers are used in elections. You should check your county, to see if you can get certified as an election observer. It's very educational.
The computers used in elections have highly controlled inputs: no network cards, disabled USB ports, very restricted access by limited, accountable people. They are constantly tested for accuracy, with everything logged and inspected. Security is the most paramount thing, and you're talking like only you care about it.
Human counting is far less accurate, so the "no computer" notion is just stupid.
They’re not allowing this one to slip by: they really want the seat. But what they are doing is what the GOP never does, and that is hold their own people accountable for being criminals, even if it means losing political power. Platner, Menendez, Swalwell, (I could go on) Dems will hold even powerful members accountable for this stuff (ever since Clinton; there was a real soul searching within the party about him).
They’re going to fight hard for this seat. They just not going to do it with Platner.
He was and is a bad candidate because he’s a nazi-tattoo-having rapist. Defend that at the loss of your credibility and moral standing.
The GOP spent a ton of money to protect a weak Collins, in a year they expect massive losses. They’re spending heavily everywhere. Is this your first election? Are you 18?
Do you know how manipulated you were into liking Platner in the first place? Do you know how these working-man-speaking-truth-to-power candidates are made? They are creatures of the political consulting class, who seek out someone mediagenic who fits their profile, back him with money and tell him what to say.
You are not fighting the establishment backing Platner. You’re just engaging with the arm of the establishment that is marketed as “anti-establishment”.
All of the “he’s being rat fucked by establishment Dems” folks here… you’re just demonstrating how it is that you end up with a terrible political class. You’re willing to attack your allies to defend a nazi-tattoo-having rapist, because you have a single issue on your mind.
To Defenders of Platner: It's OK to not want yet another douchebag repping the team. It gets fucking old. Let people advocate for not wanting a shitheel for a senator.
To Platner's Liberal Attackers: Get on the bus. Primary is over, you have your anti-Trump candidate. Voting for a politician isn't declaring undying faith, it's taking a bus ride to get closer to where you want to go. A politician will seldom get you exactly where you want to go, but they can get you closer by the way they vote, even if they suck as people. So come voting time, get on the bus.

We all use paper ballots, too. We use computers to count them.
Do you not know this, about the system you're judging?
Good for you. Enjoy your elections with 1/12th of the population of the US.

So you don't ever get to update them or fix bugs without entirely new hardware... yeah, all the counties around the country can afford that.
It sounds like you don’t know how tech works.
That the hardware can run some software is not an indication that it is flawed or vulnerable in any way.
You can run Doom on some DSLRs. These days, it can be hard to find bottom-end hardware that can't be made to run Doom.
I just can’t stand his oily smarmy face, or his patronizing responses to questions. He’s everything repugnant.
Oh, well now you look smart and principled…

None of you look smart or principled.
That's the end of the magnet!
Learn to fucking read.
Pop quiz: Which would you rather have, the Labour Party or the Democratic Party?
I can't decide which is more repugnantly bad at their job.
Not that I can tell. Establishment Dems do nothing but disappoint. How bad at your job do you have to be to lose to Trump?
SOP with Trump: lose and declare victory.
All social media sites are rooms in a house, and LinkedIn is the loo.
