They don't really always do that. I think there is also a thing where the one talking let the other one take the word if they start talking. As an adhd gal i often experience how I, if I give the slightest pause after a sentence, even if it is pretty clear that it led up to the next sentence, some nevrotypical person starts talking. Not because I'm done, but because the sentence ended

Already deleting queer people and communists from history, I see. And including "liberal politicians"? Cmon, the centrists are those who gave Hitler power to stop the leftists! Does that remind you of someone?

I have no problems with eye contact, and experience it as an important part of communication, also for me. There are times, when something really serious is discussed, that I look somewhere else to not get distracted, but thats about information overload and not about it being unpleasant

Yeqh, I do cheat sometimes, especially in games with puzzles. I love strategy, but hate puzzles, so to have fun in games that have puzzles, I do cheat so I can enjoy the rest of the game. Also, in some games with RNG, I can avoid the worst results because I dont find luck enjoyable. I like to win or lose a game depending on my skills, so I dont find RNG enjoyable. But I might, at the same time, turn up the difficulty to compensate

Cheat to enjoy the game, not to win. Winning by cheating is no fun

Problem is, you are gonna stay on that list if the "good guys" take over

on Anne Frank rule · c/196 · -27 pts · 1y

Anne Frank was a queer jewish victim of the nazi genocide. This is not comparable to the outing of Luigi, and I find this meme just as tasteless as the people who think the ceo is more important than normal people

No, they are saying one side being bad doesn't make "the other side" perfect or immune to criticism

The US participating in the Palestinian genicide does not excuse Russia invading Ukraine. The US invading Iraq does not excuse nationalists in India attacking Muslims

It is not the same thing, and western imperialism doesnt make non-western imperialism ok. Even if it is a lot worse

What reality? Prisons doesnt work. Even just abolishing them without alternatives would be better for solving crime Why prisons get the bulk of the offenders? Light be something wrong with the system then. Just like how tons of people starve to death each day while EU and USA burns food to keep high prices Something happening of not a good reason to continue doing it

These are not really my alternatives, but common solutions where I live. They are usually enforced through the police or in a court system where they base it on stuff like what you have done, what your intensions are, where you are in life, and what you yourself think will help you to not repeat your crimes It is not perfect, parties that pretend to be tuff on criminals are undermining it for cheap votes, and way too many still go to prison. But it is an alternative that works and that rehabilitate people without hurting them I wish we could go the opposite way

Id say: prisons dont work, cost a lot and does huge damage. They also often work as a gateway to heavier crime. I dont need a replacement for that. "Nothing" would still be an improvement. This is the short answer

When that is said, what do we do about crime? Id say that depends, what kind of crime? There are so many different motivations for doing crime, there should be just as many solutions: removing poverty, proper sex education, confiscating the money from the rich, remove the reasons people are doing crime in the first place

We also do a lot of alternatives today: fines, mental hospitals, community service, guidance, conflict counseling, anger management courses, sometimes a serious conversation with the police, childcare help, detox institutions, and a lot more

They have three things in common: they work, they are a lot cheaper and they dont for the same mental damage as torture/prison

And then there are those under 1% og criminals that is totally lost, that need to be locked up. But only until we get a society where they dont get lost..

Ye, I remember him arguing that some tankie was supporting holocaust because the tanke was talking about some stuff that happened in Soviet without talking about the Holocaust (in that movie), then moving on to another movie where he misgendered detransitioned people because, as he said, didnt aknowledge them being cis, and then ending up being against decolonialism because talking about ways to correct the wrong made by colonialism for some reason was white genocide or something like that, and then I stumbled over him arguing for Israel keeping their settlements in Palestine, even if he said the opposite in another video

He never discuss with others, he always misrepresent their viewpoint because he want to fuel his ego by "winning" debates, never actually learning shit from people who knows more than him
