It is incredibly immature, absolutely agree. Rarely ever not intentional, though. And even when it's not intentional, it's inherently emotionally immature and toxic behaviour built into the framework so insidiously the whole structure is rotten. Absolutely a sign that entire person belongs in the bin, unredeemable.

Reactive abuse. They provoke you (intentionally or unintentionally) and then act like you're the problem when you have a normal human reaction to their bullshit.

I just watched the most awesome yt clip on this topic. Emily Nagoshi, (big think) she covers so many topics, similarly neurodivergence, consent, incels, what usually goes wrong in cis het relationships, etc. I highly recommend watching it. I instantly bought her book, after listening to her words. The clip is called the biggest lies about good sex and how to have it, but she changed my entire perspective on sex, in so many ways, just watching it. https://youtu.be/qnHvFKoThP8

I appreciate this post, it's freezing middle of winter, here so seeing the beach is salve for my soul, right now. I just downloaded and made wall plaques of the solstices and equinoxes, because the seasonal depression always hits me hard this time of year. I feel like this pic is icing on the cake, to the hopeful pics I made here. Hope everyone gets a chance for a lovely dip!

I super struggle finding bathing suits. I would rather longer shorts, but they don't seem to exist. I've just actually started wearing active wear bike shorts, ha.

I had thought quite common. I know I was at every step of the way. Started with vhs way back in the day. I was just a kid, probably 10 or 11. Dad used to bring home pirated bootleg bloopers a mate had given him, or something. But I just figured out how to do it, at every stage for myself, because I loved rewatching my favourite movies over and over. I didn't think it was ever hard, or expensive. I just asked the guys at the local electronics store, if I got stuck. They helped me figure out how to bypass the copywrite protection on vhs tapes.

Yeah, those are awful! I haven't gotten them too severely of a day time, yet. Apart from waking up in a pool of sweat, because I've had one in the night and it's woken me up. Ugh. I'm on hrt, and I'm almost starting to feel like myself again, sort of.

One day I was so sick, I asked my kid (probably 5yo) to just bring me some cereal, and he did, it tasted awful. I said I'm so sorry, I can't eat this, could you pretty please try again. And he did, bless his little heart. Same deal. It tasted salty and awful. So I got up to investigate, he had been using stock, as it looked the same as the milk we had, kinda. Hilarious story I still fondly tell today. I swear the joy from how funny and sweet that experience was cured me right up.

Laughter brings you back from the dark side, in more ways than one. Inject it often, I say.

Always when I watch doomsday movies, I wonder, wtf the people were even doing right up until the event. Because we always come into the movie, right at the doomsday event, none of the build up of warning signs are shown.

And now I know. We doomscroll on our phones because we've been taken over by a handful of super evil villains, whom have accelerated climate change, in their self seving mania, and have, essentially, enslaved all the people. This tiny handful of evil villains, have kept pumping movies at us where we don't survive or, if we do we need someone with super powers to do it, no mere mortal can have any effect, why try!

They put cages around us with cost of living and then cages in our minds, believing we don't have power to overthrow this tiny little band of vile evil self proclaimed overlords. I bet they even wear capes in their bedrooms. They know they're evil, they know what they're doing, they really just don't care past the end of their own nose.

It's not just one article that elicits massive severe concern, lately. And it just got me thinking. Sorry for the brain dump.

I'm reading Martha Wells, The cloud roads. I think she's going to be my new obsession for a bit. I want to wait till they've finished making telly shows of her Murder Murderbot series before I read them, books are always better, so I digest the worst first.

I don't necessarily disagree with you. Depending on what your aim is there, which isn't really explained in anything you have said.

I think we're talking about entirely different things. And different wants for outcome. I don't necessarily advocate personally for the efforts they've exampled, I just saw you didn't seem to understand their logic. So I explained what they aim for.

They aim to let PlayStation see the numbers in agreement behind the want for physical media. That's it. Just physical media. Stopping within a time frame, as a group, speaks volumes for that.

I'm entirely unclear on what you're trying to actually achieve, though. You want to abstain from PlayStation forever, that's it? I don't see why you are engaging in discussion about it, if you're just done, be done.

If you have a free week to sit outside some PlayStation headquarters, go do. I would suggest less people have that ability, than the number that have the ability to show, how many in numbers they are, by abstaining for a week.

I'm also not American and I don't live in America. If you think your way is better, rather than sprout off, go gather numbers and organise.

I've been trying to Swedish death clean my whole life, for a while now. Still on that path, but I feel like I'm really getting on top of it. I got told I had 2 months to find a new place, in January, because they were selling, but the new owners signed me up for 2 more years. The panic of being homeless (because there's nothing out there, and it's ridiculously expensive) with kids with severe disabilities, caused a heap of stress. I funnelled that into action and I'm really enjoying having less stuff. I just genuinely haven't had the spare time to cull things in nearly a decade. Things have been crazy.

Boycotting with a small window, isn't the whole war, it's just one shot fired. It gives them an idea of the numbers involved, the amount of people who disagree with their policy, and an idea we won't just forget and roll over. If they ignore the first shot fired, you fire more, and you get bigger with every shot fired. It's got to effect their bottom line, or they will ignore it. People who entirely abstain are just measured as not in the argument at all. You don't give them pressure by never owning a PlayStation. You just aren't a customer. They count customers. It would even be worthwhile to create a PlayStation account, log in the day before the boycott, and log out for the duration, then log in again the day after the end, so you have a measurable voice in the movement. If you went to their offices, you would just look clinically unhinged, and they would just involve police, and ignore you.
