Being someone who tries to be good has always been the thing that actually makes you a good person. The Bible and other religious traditions pointed this principle out millennia ago. However, it's good to remember that actions are often closely tied to your inward motivations too. If you strongly believed that there was a valuable treasure buried in some location, you wouldn't be content to just leave it there, you would go out and actually find it. That's partly why many religions generally focus on prescriptions over just telling you to try and be better inwardly.

I find it rather worrying that so many people on Lemmy and in general seem to be more motivated by their dislike of things than by finding the good in things and trying to cultivate that good. The latter requires the uncomfortable work of being open and vulnerable with what you believe while the former simply requires that you be closed off and is, I think, indicative of moral and intellectual rot.

Anyway, I don't watch tv shows at all, but if I did, I'd imagine I'd like The Good Place.

In defense of Tyson, he was 31 years older than Paul and Paul is young and decently trained. Tyson's last professional fight was almost 20 years earlier and the Jake Paul fight was 4 years after the most recent fight.

Most of the time the reason Jake Paul wins is because he's either fighting retired fighters or making other fighters do boxing matches when they aren't trained as boxers. He has only had one match with an active boxer, who was unranked, which he lost.

Why do you think conservatives would vandalize it? I have a hard time imagining that happening in the conservative area I live in.

Oh, sorry, only joined today. I'll have to look into that.

Edit: welp, I looked it up and took a couple tests and now I'm pretty sure I have SzPD too.

When no small number of Tankies want to trap us in the car for the sake of spurring on class consciousness and a crisis of capitalism, then yeah, that kind of a squeaky door could be a legitimate problem too. And those who aren't accelerationists are either too quiet with their support or, on the other hand, hardly do anything but complain about everything as though it's the worst possible thing ever, which reduces voter engagement because it's hard to be excited to actually go out and vote when you have to choose between the lesser of two genocide-level evils.

I'm just a lurker without schizophrenia SzPD, but I'm here. I have an anxiety disorder which impacts my memory so I also forget important things more often than I'd like. I just try to accept it for what it is and move on because shit happens and I know I'm more capable than my brain likes to admit. Don't be too rough on yourself.

The US and other countries not protecting Ukraine sends a massive signal to everyone else that you can only depend on yourself for protection, and that means everyone needs to have WMDs. So take that how you will.
