Communicating in text is sometimes difficult. I expect you weren't saying I'm not gonna go to Valhalla. Putting quotes around the phrase would make it clear.

I'm more of German descent than Scandinavian and I understand that their mythologies were fairly similar. For example, today's Santa Claus is actually Teutonic Wotan. It blew my mind when I learned that. I'm just very fascinated by Norse mythology. I blame the old Thor comics that I read when I was a kid that were actually versions of stories of Thor in Valhalla.

Amazingly they were kind of sort of based on the actual legends. The death of Baldr by Loki's treachery, the birth of Sleipnir by Loki when he was in horse form. The half-giant Thor, famous for felling giants.

Citizen enforces his own right to the Fourth Amendment and is prosecuted by the government for not letting them try to find incriminating evidence on him. For something. Maybe. Because he looks suspicious.

I hope that lawyer gets it thrown out. I'm not holding my breath. We've gone so far into fascism I'm not sure it'll take anything less than violence to end it.

Another article in which we find that the people who are making things in this country are building the things that science fiction authors wrote about to stop people from doing such things. Yup, they saw the horrors and they just smiled and thought "Cool!"

Colossus the Forbin Project, I Robot (the literature and the movie), Running Man ,The Matrix, Fahrenheit 451, 1984, Rollerball, And of course Minority Report.

These are all good works of fiction, either literature or movies, that apparently our business elite has decided is what we need to make Real.

From DuckDuckGo AI:

No—restrictions weren’t only in one party’s states, but Republican-led states did pass several of the hardest measures, including bills in places like Texas and Oklahoma. The report also says both Democrat- and GOP-controlled states passed some more permissive siting policies, so restriction was not limited to just one party.

I'm pretty sure this is yet another example of the wealthy vs everybody else situation, so some of the Democrats succumb to bribery, campaign donations from corporate "constituents". I like to think there are more Democrats with a sense of civic duty than there are Republicans. This is why paying attention to the actual candidate's pitch and history is important. Don't vote "party line".

More permissive siting policies can legitimately be hard choices for the greater benefit of the community. Seek nuance when evaluating such policies.

If you want, it's no skin off my back. This whisper voice to text that I have on my Android is working pretty well, but there will be similar errors in the future.

So far it's the best one I've found. I don't have to specify punctuation or anything. Basically what you're reading is exactly what it came out with. It beats the keyboard, which for some reason keeps putting C's and V's where I put spaces, and I have to go back and modify everything.
