Is there anything worst than Appel's OS'? I'm always pulling my hair out when trying to get a working state of any jellyfin player on TvOS, iOS or MacOS...
Probably the worst ecosystem for Open Source and Piracy and never again will I buy something related to Apple.
Google joining the party now, it's getting darker and darker for Open Source and piracy ! I hope one day there will be a good Linux Mobile ecosystem...
It's not fairly easy :/ ... Specially if you want something that works flawlessly over time !
Maybe for most IT workers, yes it's easy... But if you are starting out right with 0 knowledge with docker, networking, VPN, gluetun, multi-arch player (tvOS, android TV, Linux, Android, MacOS, iOS), linux, private tracker, exposing your media securely, arr stack configuration... You name it !
Naaah it's not fairly easy if you're just starting out !
Yeah that's a real use case, i get that! and good this kind of feature exist for people who really need it !
Otherwise I don't really see why a healthy person would use this feature... That's my point, now you have for every new phone this feature enable by default...
It's like giving you earimpaired devices when you actually don't need it :/
My old laptop (also EOL) still running as my server I guess ? I'm still looking for some time to switch to my old desktop with 5TB.
Not much but it's kinda needed for my curreent Arr stack and my self-hosted services i want to share with family members (SFTPgo, vaultwarden, invidious, baikal, navidrome, jellyfin, seerr...)
Still need some time to make our network more reliable :) I still have 2 managed swiches to put into our network !

Why would any sane person even use this kind of feature? It's not even that useful :/.
It's the kind of thing people think they needed, when actually they dont... Who the fuck needs to know how many steps you did this afternoon? Or how "good" you slept yesterday? How many calories your ate this morning...?
I haven't seen a single good use case of this kind of tracking device, except for your insurance/bank...
3-5 years? I'm not sure about that... I got 4 Industry Red HDDs from my job... They have over 10 years of full load and they don't have a single reallocated sector count, reported uncorrectable errors or current pending sector count.
I guess consumer grade HDD have some kind of programmed obsolescence ?

No one here can give me any proof that an ant is or isn't conscious (in there own way) ! We are unable to understand beeings on another levels of consciousness...

Yeah, I had the same feeling before I discovered how powerfull it is.
It's not that hard to keep it well organized manually I guess, but you have to be very thorough and always keep the same structure when you do something ! I'm not at all an expert in scripting or programming on Linux and i'm relatively new in the Linux familly so I guess Im lacking a lot of basic skills in that matter.
I did appreciated my manual setup for a while. Also I did learned a lot of new things (what are inodes, files, hardlinks, softlinks, mount points, ffmpeg, mkvtools...) But now that I have that new basic knowledge I can take away this mental charge and just let it run whithout the need to overthink things !
I think it's the best course of action for my learning Linux journey :)

It does, well it isn't the classical mathematics, but higher up math like fractals which is math but on another scale.

Haven't tried it but I have my eyes on :) This will probably be your best bet as soon as Google goes Apple style closed ecosystem ^^'
You could probably start this interface on boot and have a similar TV experience as Android TV box where you can put Jellyfin and other apps.
You still need to configure some controller or remote to navigate the interface !
Your only limit is your own imagination on Linux :) !

You could probably use it to download legal torrents (movies, series) but they depend on metadata providers for all the data.
I thinks It wouldn't be that useful for something else than piracy (torrent&Usenet) but I may be wrong here.
