Pepé the frog has been used as a Nazi symbol. Several of the protesters in Portland, Oregon are wearing blow up frog costumes. Some of the protesters are elderly and watch MSNBC. Hence, grandmothers have reclaimed the symbol of the frog.

Maybe they don't understand why he wasn't playing shows in the U.S. He was afraid that ICE might arrest attendees because most people who listen to his music speak Spanish and might look like what the administration thinks Hispanics look like.

The Superbowl is a highly televised event where tickets cost hundreds of dollars. Not too many people who don't have good lawyers can even get tickets, so he's not nearly as afraid of people being arrested there.
