The problem is that these 'features' give you the fake appearance of performance but at the cost of actual performance. And they aren't even good in the first place. Upscaling is like smearing vaseline all over your screen and saying "see how good it looks" when it's just a blurry mess, especially with temporal elements. Frame generation gives artificial smoothness but doesn't help input latency which is the part of frame rate that actually matters.

The kicker is that it costs real frames to generate fake ones. The game ends up looking and feeling worse.

One option you have is to import your organized files into Immich through the immich-cli. That will make sure it ends up in the intended file structure.

Except for the numerous other artificial sweeteners that have been found to also have negative effects. This has been a trend, and I think that's what they meant by that statement

When streaming content to a chromecast it usually makes a direct connection to the content source, not going through the device you're casting from. In limited cases like when sharing your screen to the chromecast it does only go from your device to the chromecast without internet, but that's rarely used because it's power and data intensive to your device. I guess you're right on the internet not being 'strictly' needed but it's used for a reason.

Should still buy your own router though, and move away from google services 👍
