Populism isn't fascism, but neither is democracy. In general, political systems that are set to make stronger governments, either with a second vote or tuned to just have two parties, makes that the parties don't represent accurately the people.

This makes that people vote against what they fear and not for what they believe.

Democratic decisions should be done by consensus, by negotiating with each point of view trying to get to a compromise or a middle ground.

On top of this, if you have more parties being part of the government in a coalition, corruption is harder since the parties watch each other.

Humans are diverse and can enrich with collaboration. Having two parties, one that say that slaves should be exploted and another one saying that slaves should have some rights, does not represent the slaves points of view and their experience on handling things.

A week after Spain visited Algeria to negotiate gas provision and improve relations this happened. Some years ago, when defending Sahara a bunch of kids came from Morocco, similarly to this time.

Morroco is using people as ammunition, 70 died this week for nothing. Morroco intelligence assets has been recognized among the visitors. Israel social network accounts has been detected to be making propaganda. American politicians are defending Morrocos interests. Far right European politicians that usually are pro USA are using this against Spain and immigrants.

Spain position is against war and genocides and for human rights, making this three countries against the country. There are many indicators that this was more a political crisis than a humanitarian one.

I am not sure it is a problem with younger generations, I see it, sometimes even more on older people. I can understand that someone close to retirement doest get gains enough for striking, but that's what solidarity is about.

Think on gifting him something inexpensive for you, bake them something or something like inviting your son's friend to dinner at home. It's healthy to reciprocate within your economic situation. That way it doesn't become charity.
