EA to my knowledge just has shitty business practices. Ubisoft at a minimum had a culture of sexual harrassers, possibly assaulters. Blizzard certainly had rapists. Ubisoft also with the pioneering always online DRM for single player games getting back to the games portion of their evils
Apple is already locked down. Googles already inching at locking down Android phones and governments seem primed to facilitate that. Clamping down on VPNs can be a driver for that. Being way more restrictive on routers too like the US and it's foreign router bans

If memory prices weren't so screwed up, would have been a perfect time for Steam Machines to push regular Linux as an HTPC closer to mainstream
They're just like Hollywood blockbuster execs. They'd rather one game that copies what they've identified as popular from other games and media to formulate a game that can make hundreds of millions in profit if not into the billions rather making a bunch of smaller games that can make smaller profits. Single to double digit million dollar profits. It'd take a large amount of smaller hits that they can't imagine managing to accomplish to equal the profit of one mega hit so go big or go home. Unless you're Nintendo, they churn out smaller games and they have a brand/game identity that people generally don't seem to be let down from. They're consistent
Go from the summer blockbuster equivalent holiday AAA graphics bonanza game where the rest of the year was filled out with cheaper bets to any month is a month for a blockbuster/AAA game. Well, graphics don't sell games like they used to so you get these multi hundred million dollar budget games struggling to sell any better than AAA games made in 2007 that were made with a fraction of the modern AAA team size and made in like a third of the time to development
When I went AM5 when that was new everyone was like DDR5 is overpriced. Stick with AM4 and buy a better GPU. 2029 AM5 at least now. I'll be on AM5 until at least 2035. Really I want to take it to 2040
Somehow the old guard boring car vehicle brands, not GM - maybe not any American brand, are becoming desire brands/models. At worst, never sign up for a car subscription and teach the younger ones that haven't experienced a car phone mount. They're better today than in the past. Instead of finagling with clips, they have magnets
Sweet. Once handbrake and other programs like kdenlive support export in it, I'll start encoding new stuff in it, at least for testing it out. It'll be slow but that's fine. A couple years for hardware decoders in desktop/laptop graphics cards. More for mobile. A couple more for hardware encoders. Then there's the AI hardware shortage that'll make adoption even slower. VVC is already practically dead. It'll be slow for adoption but AV2 is going to be running almost unopposed with how little has happened with VVC in 6 years
Launchers sometimes makes the remote experience go all wonky in my experience. It's constantly improving though. I guess if it's super lightweight and super cheap, it could be kind of interesting. Still would rather something more usable as a docked PC. 1GB of memory sucks. Someone put a Spacemit k3 into a handheld with a 6-7 screen, like 8GB+ of memory, UFS or NVME storage, and any Linux distro and I'd be interested in an instant. Wouldn't be good for gaming, but it'd be a good dockable office machine. Maybe 4GB of memory is enough
I want to go hardwired backhaul eventually. That's the dream. But when I finally get to that, I'll do my best to buy TP-Link routers and switches to spite this nonsense

I want a new AAA MMO that does a grand narrative but does a bit more sandboxy stuff. Like Albion Online has a consistent playerbase. Runescape. New indie MMOs all seem to be the player based resource economy style with minimal questing like Bitcraft Online. TESO but more player but more player economy. Some happy medium between TESO/SWTOR/FFXIV and the non-narrative centric mmos
Anytime I read someone use the CCP to contrast the American government positively, I'm like are we just ignoring the US's current active bombings and trade embargos to starve populations of other nations and the others in the last century. I'm certain I'll offend some sheltered white American people who eat up propaganda who are all about indigenous people but never bothered to really care about the US backed genocide of native Americans in Nicaragua or that native Americans in the US have the highest rates of suicide in the US or the backing of Pinochet in Chile or Los Halcones in Mexico or the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia. What percentage of the North Korean and Vietnamese populations were killed in the US invasions, how many people were killed by the US in Iraq and Afghanistan. So many indigenous people killed by the US. Millions. Very likely pushing a million if not more just these last 26 years of indigenous people around the world. Then there's the unwavering support for Israel and the genocide of Palestinians
Me wanting to abandon Nintendo got me to buy this since it was on sale on Fanatical including all the DLC. It's a good Mario kart replacement. I hope more people buy in. Get some more marketing and sales when the steam machine launch and build up the online and local multiplayer playerbase
If they had just embraced normal Linux anytime in the past ~20 years, they'd actually have a strong desktop os market to pair with android. I've only ever had MacBooks for work and I'd buy a neo over an android based laptop

Really enjoy this one. It's solid with a gamepad now. Hoping the console releases have a major update for that still to make it perfect
