Women are better are covering it up. I think men are more prone to acts of passion or random bouts of rage, which is difficult to plan for and cover up. It's often public, loud and messy. Women internalize from an early age that this is not acceptable behaviour if you're not male, so we reign it in more. But that doesn't mean the crimes aren't committed, we're just always cognizant of the social fallout if we're discovered.
Anyone who has worked in a retirement home can tell you there are some very sweet ladies who will, on or near their deathbed, tell you how they killed their abusive husband decades ago. Or they share the story like words of wisdom to the younger generation.
I think a lot of women have been put in a corner by society, so they don't feel a pressing need to play by the rules all the time.
Don't drive while on drugs or operate other heavy machinery.
There should be strict laws regarding advertising for all drugs including alcohol.
Clear labeling so you know exactly what you're getting.
Reasonable age restrictions.
Cutoff guidelines and restrictions for anyone who dispenses such substances.
If there are additional taxes on these substances, that money should go towards rehab, research, etc.
And obviously it should be illegal to trick people into taking these or allow anyone to consume them without knowing what they're having (I'm bitter about potluck events where people don't mention there's drugs in the desserts they brought).
I haven't seen it mentioned yet so I'll throw in my rec: the spear cuts through water. You know how they say you need to know the rules to break the rules? This book is a masterclass in that. It does so many things that novels simply aren't supposed to... And the execution is flawless. The story is compelling, but I was most engaged with the way it was written. It felt like nothing else I've ever encountered - not because the ideas were new (nesting narratives, shifts in perspective, genre twists, etc) but because I've never seen so much of it executed so well together.
You're the only other person I've ever encountered who believes the emperor's soul to be Sanderson's best work. I really do think he thrives with the short story / novella length fiction in general, and it's a shame he's always going for the opposite. Emperor's soul crams so much depth into such a compelling little story, I can't believe how often it's overlooked.
No. I understand what the layout should be like, and which way to turn to do certain things. But I can't, for example, remember the color of the walls, or have a good feel for how big the space was, or actually imagine it visually in any way. All of the points are just information. I know that there are pictures on the left wall, but I don't remember and can't visualize where on the wall they are, what height or how many there are, etc.
Women's pants usually come in only one type of size (e.g. small, medium or large) and you can't adjust for height, unlike with men's pants. So if you're a woman and you start getting fat, you'd better also growing upwards too!
Look at the tag on the item you already have. It should have a breakdown of the percentage of each material used. Compare to the product you're buying, which should also list the materials in the product specs.

Puberty hit hard though, and periods do weird things to a person. I woke up in the middle of the night one night NEEDING to eat a banana. I ate all the ones we had at home (about 4-5). When my mom woke up I asked to go grocery shopping to buy more.

Yes but the purpose of the date isn't just to go through the motions of a typical date. It's to get to know each other. I expect a person to suggest a place they like, and that tells me something useful and opens the conversation.

Are women going to also be tested? What happens when their levels come back low? Will they be deemed not capable enough to continue working?
Not to mention that for period pieces especially that's probably one of only like three dresses/pants they own, if they're relatively well-off.
