The behavior of the head lemmy dev makes me regret migrating to lemmy on any instance, and makes me think I should seek something else entirely until a hard fork is adopted by mutiple large instances. I don't want even steps association removed with such people.

Some Republicans, however, have argued that such legislation would discourage wealthy people who have had successful private sector careers from entering public service.

Stop guys I was already sold on the idea you don't need to keep convincing me that banning politicians from trading is a good idea

I suddenly remember all those 80s and 90s sitcoms where the friends live right nearby and wall right into each others homes without knocking and just start talking without any greetings. This picture is just as unrealistic.

this is true, and if telling yourself you are better than you used to be is either not helpful or not true, thats def a problem :(

feeling a little embarrased is ok, crippling anxiety not so much!

its not necessarily revisiting just because you feel. if you forget history you are more likely to repeat it. it would be far worse if you did things and had no shame at all. embarrassment for things you did is like your brain saying "remember to avoid this situation, we don't want that again!"

The ultra wealthy have a tendency to just hoard it, accumulating far more than they will even use, and act like that is normal and the purpose of it.

I think it is also worth making the point that this far right-wing group masquerading as feminists is often dishonest about what content is in the media that they are targeting in order to effect its removal (and generate support from clueless individuals on social media). Just because they told the payment processor the platform was full of visual depictions of vile filth doesn't mean that is what they were really targetting in their removal demands to steam, resulting in removal of things that indirectly referenced events of a sexual nature, not just hentai games. Dipshits on reddit keep framing this as defending rape.

MS Teams: you are out of office

Me: excuse me what? I am right here, with nothing on my calander to put me in the out status.

Teams: nope, not there. Out and offline. Me: I'm right here! changes status twice to prove it

Teams: since you are clearly not present, I'm going to do updates. restarts

Me: 🤬

Teams, already restarting: OH THERE YOU ARE!
