I was raised in a very dysfunctional household. I broke free, met an amazing partner, and we both wanted children. I finally have the opportunity to be a kid again with them, provide them the childhood I never had and be apart of it, by having the childhood I never had.
My kids are 9 & 11… and we are slowly having to pull back on fun active activities outdoors during the summer months because the environment is getting worse and worse year over year…
I broke the cycle, but their childhood is slowly being robbed of them.
Record rain in my area to where water drainage infrastructure is being destroyed bit by bit every fucking night. Massive tornado inducing storms where we normally don’t see them (a freak event killed a bunch of people and destroyed nearly a billion dollars in property back in the 80s, nothing since and nothing before). Record amount of tornados in my Province, humid as fuck when I live in the prairies. Smokey unbeatable air because of the one area not getting rain burning down.
Boomers. We call them boomers. An this is just one social paradigm the majority of them share that is harmful to society along with hoarding wealth and fucking up the housing market.
We are finally at the end. It’ll start with entertainment, such as sports (already there) and soon video games. They’ve done it with software controls in vehicles. Retailers are started working with Creditors so you can do it for Computers and TVs, but the beginning of the end is upon us.
We are now entering the beginning steps of a new era, where You will own nothing, rent or lease, or subscribe to everything, and you will enjoy it because you have no choice.
Mind expanding on this a bit? A PS5 will load the largest of games with in a few seconds. Baldur’s Gate 3 for example, loads the entire game inside of 30 seconds.
Like Canada. We just need to outlaw the alcohol. But, alcohol consumption is down considerably since legalization of cannabis, and even more so with younger of age generations.
Mussels, oysters and lobster (prawns as well) really pisses me off. Lobster costing like $30-40 a fucking tail is absolutely insane. They are pretty much the rabbits or rats of the ocean.
But… it could have been worse. Losing only 0.25% of a population during a world wide pandemic is, by all accounts in the scientific/medical field, considered a success.
Yet. Trust your life to them… yet. All it takes is ALL vehicles to eventually be autonomous, and then you never have to worry about loss of life or injury. If all vehicles followed every rule to a “T,” there would be no issues.
I’m definitely a little late getting back to this party, but I never said that “I” hate Ottawa. I said that is the general sentiment in Alberta. “Ottawa” being the default slang to describe the Federal Government, as a commenter replied to you stating. Hopefully that clears some things up.
For some reason, the average Albertan has been brainwashed enough by decades of anti-Fed propaganda that nearly half the population here believes the federal government actively works against Alberta. That Alberta because of its vast resources gets snubbed non-stop and it’s the rest of Canada’s fault. They believe the province just writes cheques out to Quebec, and the rest of the country is stealing our money.

I hope you are right, and generally speaking I believe the same way you do on the matter. Sure they had lineups 2000 people long in every community, but that’s it. Everyone that was going to sign their stupid petitions signed them the first 3 days.
But if you are like me and live here, the sentiment is very much “fuck Ottawa” more than “fuck Canada.” It’s sad how easily affected a population can be when it comes to propaganda like this. It’s sad really. And we thought thought as a society, making sure everyone can read and write a lawful requirement was a good thing.

Games are now an average of 50GB or more (up to 100GB for some). Larger games require a data disc now. It’s been like this for 20 years.
