That is very true. If you just want to learn it, starting even at something like basic tex may make more sense. The latex ecosystem is where it starts getting interesting though, since there's been so much created and written for it. BUT that does mean you're stuck in a weird abstraction area. For when I'm just making documents (and not stuck to a specific journal format), I'm really enjoying org-mode and then piping its output to a tex PDF. I think markdown would work too, but org-mode inherits all the emacs modes, so you can get some pretty complicated in-document scripting done.

But, to make it really interesting, throw in tikz and/or pgfplots for some interesting power tools. Tikz does A LOT, and is really powerful. But can definitely be overwhelming.
Just within the last week or so old.reddit.com was effectively disabled and stopped working. (I think it might work if you log in, but i quit doing that 3 years ago). It was a nice resource and it’s said that it’s such a shell of what it was. Right when the internet is really needing human voices too
This is part of it. Constitutionally, the governor can only appoint for state offices, but there was historical precedent for the governor to appoint federal offices. And you are right that the state had passed some laws requiring a special election, but it also had some crazy length like 56-days required between the call and the election taking place to let all counties be notified. (As best I can remember reading. It's all a bit of a mess.)
The more annoying thing is the two rulebooks. McConnell has tended to make up his own rules (and justify them with legalese) and ignore the ones he doesn't like. Beshear is trying to play by the rules, and not recognizing the actual power shifts that have happened. And so, here we sit in sending-angry-letter mode for the time being.
Everything about modern console gaming has been frustrating. I'm trying to help my kids, but having physical media hard to find, never-ending account creation, and then features locked behind online stuff, that you then have to subscribe to the console company to play anything online? What have we done?
I quit doing all surveys. Why work for free? It just felt pointless, and I used to fill out a lot of these since I thought it made my voice heard. They also started to feel more sterile and robotic and less about actually getting actionable feedback. Aggregate data tends to suck, and it’s all they want now.
Mokas are a finicky beast. I’ve had it make some of the worst and some of the tastiest cups I’ve had. Is it acidic or bitter? It’s easy to burn it, but that doesn’t sound like the problem. I’m guessing it’s too fine. Every bag I got had to be individually dialed on, but in general I found a grind much more similar to drip/ pour over worked best. I’d try that. Fill your filter up to where there’s a good mound and lightly tap down with a spoon.
Also, have your changed your filter and gasket that go into the top portion? Those can get old grinds stuck in it easy that can taste off.
What a strange take. I get that being interrupted with a phone does cause a context switch, but so would coming in and ordering. Or picking up pizzas to deliver. And also, for me I just think of answering the phone as part of the job at a pizza joint. So many memories of sitting in lobbies waiting hearing the constant “hello papa johns” drone on. I do concede I’m old though.
Replying to myself, but I just made this today. Comically easy recipe, and the pie was good. BUT, a the ice cream and caramel drizzle make it a top tier desserts for me. Thanks for the recipe!
