Nobody is stopping you from writing poetry. You still can... and the same amount of people will continue to not care that you like, totally expressed the darkness in your soul; which is nobody

Being concerned about companies not hiring entry level employees making it difficult for college graduates to find a job because AI companies have over-estimated it's effectiveness in the business world is a legitimate complaint

Maybe make posts about that

You're free to paint a picture in you garage even though AI exists. And just how nobody cared before AI that you did this, nobody will care if you do it after AI.

There are probably a million signed country musicians that you've never heard a single song from, and you don't care.

You have no idea who the next big up-and-coming painter is or what millionaire just purchased their latest piece

And it only gets worse as you get older. One day you'll wake up, see a poster for Warped Tour and realize you have no idea who any of those bands are; and you don't care

In fact, it would be sad if you did. If you have so little going on in your life that're a middle aged adult that still freaks out about the new Spider Man movie or what reality TV star is dating who... it's just sad

Adults are worried about the job market, the environment, and that the military is integrating AI into it's operations and that we might accidentally start a nuclear war because a bird shit on a radar dish and the AI thought we were under attack

You're worried TikTok has too many videos of AI cats

So if AI can't get work done how are the CEOs going to use to extract more wealth?

And if you agree that's why people think it's so valuable... where does it's ability to make cat pictures fall in there?

The top 1% using it to extract more of societal wealth is what you should be posting about here. Not your annoyance with how many AI Slop videos are on TikTok

I didn't say it was a good thing. In fact it's what you should be concerned about.

We don't care TikTok has too many AI videos of dancing cats, we're worried CEOs are trying to replace us with robots. We're worried about it's environmental impact. We're worried about it's impact on the workforce. We're worried about how much power it can get or how it'll evolve over the years. We're worried about the harm it can cause when bad people get their hands on it, etc..

crying that AI can make pictures is so far off the mark on why you should be weary of it just makes you look silly. It leads me to believe you're all children who don't know anything about business and spend way too much time watching YouTube shorts

I did go on to be in a band that did get signed. Drummer died of an overdose before we got to put out an album. Had a lot of fun on the way up though.

You're missing what I said. Nobody is going to care any more or any less about the art you make than they already do. And for most of you, that means nobody is going to care at all; which is why most artists die poor

People are not going to just stop playing the guitar because AI exists. Local shows and concerts are not going to vanish because AI exists.

That's not what AI does. It's a thing AI can do, because it can do lots of things, but it's value as a technology is not in it's ability to make images or write songs, it's in it's ability to do business. Analyze data. Make reports. Manage business processes. Draft emails, take notes, schedule appointments.

Anthropic is not valued at over a billion dollars because it can generate an image of Will Smith eating Spaghetti.

There's a lot of reasons to dislike AI. It's impact on the environment, it's impact on jobs, the concern of how much control this thing can gain, issues with it going rouge, people using it for bad (like recent hacking groups using it to hack a number of health industry corporations going so far to steal identities and lock people out of medical devices), etc...

Being upset that TikTok has too many bad AI videos of cats dancing just makes you look silly. It leads me to believe you are all children

Just because AI exists doesn't mean people will stop painting or making music. That doesn't make any sense. And nobody is going to care any more, or any less, about that then they do today

AI's value is not in it's ability to make art, it's in it's ability to do work. Actual work. Businesses are not firing their employees at record rates to replace them with cutting edge, "cat image making" technology

AI is not going to stop people from drawing, or painting, or playing musical instruments

Nobody is going to care any more or any less about any of this stuff than they already do. And how much do they care is questionable.

There's a reason your mother probably doesn't know who NBA YoungBoy is and it's because she doesn't give a fuck about new music. She's not at art galleries buying paintings all day and her excitement level for the new spiderman film basically doesn't exist. Why? Because she's an adult and adults just don't really care about this shit

AI is not about making art, it's about doing actual work. Businesses are not firing their employees at record rates to replace it with cutting edge "cat image maker" technology

nobody cares about AI art. Nobody cares about real art which is why most artists die poor and unnoticed unless they somehow end up as being used as part of a money laundering scheme

You're still free to paint pictures in your garage nobody buys

Nobody is like, "this AI Company is worth $867 million dollars because it can make pictures of cats

Drop the art angle, it just makes you all look silly

What it sounds like is he didn’t want “cheap Yeezys the kids could afford”, he wanted “cheap nike Yeezys kids could afford”.

yeah, I do believe this is what he was talking about

I don't believe he's had a consistent message since his first meltdown. Originally he was all about getting married, focusing more on family than money, and telling people to go to church. Then he got obsessed with sex, had a period of self hate and then decided he was going to be president. Then he was the second coming of Jesus and traveled around preaching the word of god with mobile church choirs that he later just abandoned and didn't pay before becoming straight up antiemetic, selling merch with swastikas' and then changing his mind and apologizing for all the harm he caused. Then he went back to being a hardcore Christian and got on TV and said he loved Hitler because Jesus tells you to love everyone. He was going to record an album in Uganda until he wasn't and then didn't. And through it all he was known for just straight up strange behavior. Claiming he was a genius, being mad about not getting credit for leather jogging pants, frequently stopping concerts to go on nonsensical rants about whatever was on his mind at the time, he walked around in a full face mask covered in diamonds, etc...

Most people track it back to about the time his mom died. I think his long-term girlfriend left him around then too. I don't know if that's accurate but it seems we went from Graduation to 808s and Heartbreak and then after that it was all, "I'm a piece of shit who's addicted to sex" and he never recovered

I might need it

I don't remember where I put it if I do need it

But I can't get rid of it because I might need it

I'm not Kanye or an executive so I don't have all the details but...

At the time Kanye was doing this entire publicity tour about how he wanted to launch a low-cost fashion line. $30 T-Shirts, $60 shoes. Things kids could actually afford

But then it turned into him going around to TV shows and Radio programs talking about how nobody wants to let him do this. I believe this is when he got in a big fight on air with the DJs of some big show.

So it's not like this was a one time remark he said, he tried this for a long time; constantly comparing his struggles to him becoming a rapper. How everyone wanted to buy his beats but nobody would let him record an album. "You just make beats" they said. Then he finally got to make an album and it's an overnight classic. And then he did it again, and again, and again

Now he wants to do fashion and they say, "You just rap, you don't do fashion". But just how he became a great rapper he was positive he could make a great fashion line if someone, anyone, would give him the chance

Eventually he had to make the limited-time, high quality shit he made... with the goal of earning enough, making a name for himself, to launch the lower-cost line he always dreamed of

But somewhere between then and now he had a massive manic episode and apparently never took his medicine. So now he's just out there, manic as shit, doing and saying whatever crazy shit pops into his head

I don't know all of the details but I do remember him pushing this hard... going on talk shows, going on the radio, etc... and nobody would bite

He kept telling the story about how he use to just make beats and nobody would believe he could rap. Now he's a big rapper trying to make fashion and nobody believes he can do it. In fact I believe this is when he got in that big fight on the radio with the DJs

So the story was always that he wanted to make a Yeezy brand of clothes and shoes but keep the price low so that kids could afford it, but nobody wanted to work with him. Sounds like they were happy to slap his name on expensive clothes but not cheap stuff; and nothing long-term, short-term limited run type of thing

I'm not Kanye or an executive at Nike so I don't have all the details, but that is what he was preaching at the time

Kanye was a good dude. But he's Bipolar and he doesn't take his medicine so he's crazy as shit now

yeah, it was a pretty big deal at the time

He wasn't an athlete so no clothing or shoe company came to him, he just wanted to do it and was approaching them. To which they basically said, "you're a rapper not a fashion designer". While they were OK putting his name on shoes, they weren't OK with letting him take control and set the price points and stuff

The uphill battle that I personally face is that I'm up there in age. I'm not old, but I'm not a young man who's going to put more money into the retirement and health care system then I'll potentially use

So countries are less likely to accept older people unless they have their own money or a valued skill

I do OK, by most Americans standards I'm well off, but I'm not rich. Not rich enough for a country to just be like, "yeah, whatever". And my skills are common. I'm in software and so maybe in the 90s they would have jumped to have more developers, but these days they teach programming to kids and with AI being as trending as it is, I doubt they're hunting for more developers

And it's not just me, it's my family.

And then there's a quality of life thing. At my age with a family I can't exactly start over at the bottom of a corporate ladder and try to climb my way back up. Even if I could get a job doing something like, "teaching English", I'm sure it would be a massive pay cut. I make well over six figures, work from home, and set my own hours

My job is fantastic. My country is kinda shit. Not as bad as some other places in the world, life isn't awful here, but the days of being proud to be an American are long over and if I could keep my job and just move to the other side of the ocean like I can move between states, I'd do it in a second

It's not that easy

Why would it be a buzzword, that's literally what it's called

You can have different pipelines that do different things, but that is the proper term for it

He wanted his shoes to be affordable but nobody would let him do it

He was trying to make an entire Yeezy fashion brand that unlike other celebrity sponsored clothes was going to be affordable so that kids could actually afford it

But the companies that did work with him wouldn't let him have full control like he wanted so the shoes were limited run, pricy, etc... and eventually he kind of had to do it himself which means it had to be expensive. It was his dream to build it up so that he could make $30 T-Shirts and $60 shoes

But Bipolar is a real bitch and well, without his medicine, he pretty much just lost his mind
