Well if you want to go full on seed-maxing, you would get a seedbox, you would focus on most anticipated releases (popular TV shows, Movies...), you would use automation tool like autobrr to automatically grab the torrents as soon as possible, so you can start seeding as soon as possible. You would get on multiple private trackers and cross seed (download identical release from one tracker so you can seed it on another one, or multiple other ones), and you would do this because one tracker might have freeleech for a specific torrent while others don't, or stuff get released on one quicker than the others, etc. There is also a tool for automated cross-seeding (cross-seed )

If you don't want to mess with those tools, nor you have a seedbox, you would just grab freeleech torrents (TL has a lot of freeleech), you would seed them as long as possible, I only remove torrents when I need extra space, so they usually get seeded for months. And besides the upload credit you get by seeding/uploading to other peers/leechers, you also get TL points which you can exchange for more upload credit. You would take the advantage of their achievement system, they give TL points for doing tasks (like visiting the site every day for a month, downloading 10,20 movies...)
And one small extra way to get some more TL points is to wait for the new years event, where they give random amount of TL points/ VIP for few days/invites, if you visit the site each day and grab the gift while the event is active.

If you don't care about any of that, just make sure that you grab freeleech most of the time and seed as long as you can, that should be more than enough to keep your ratio above 1

Microdosing hell by sitting in the sun (50C+ in direct sunlight) and listening to traffic

Can someone who sees the dress as black and blue (on the original image ) try to explain to me what leads their brain to believe that the light source is blasting the dress?

To me, background seem to be very bright, and also the clothes that are just behind the dress seems to be illuminated, thus leading my brain to think that the dress is in front of the light source (dress would be in the shade), so the logic that the dress color looks altered due to bright light just doesn't compute in my brain.

I'm betting that this is not how dress would look in real life and that crappy camera has a lot to do with how that image turned out.
But I will never understand how people can look at it and say that it's black and blue, because I never managed to see it as such.

We talk less and less about how we're actually feeling, everyone just says "I'm fine" even when they're not. So I built a tool to make social energy levels visible between friends without needing the conversation.

Hmm, isn't this kinda ironic?

Seems like an interesting concept, but unless something like this is integrated into the platform which they are using to communicate, I doubt people would use it much.

And I think I would just leave mine on 0% permanently lol

Lets be real, no matter how old you are, that kid in you will always be there. Some people just choose not to ever let it come out and play.

Everyone suggests Peertube here, yet nobody uses it.

I think the biggest problem is that it's not integrated nicely. Only Piefed and maybe some Lemmy apps have an embedded player, which allows you to play the video without leaving the site. But most people will still have to open the link in a new tab, which is especially inconvenient on mobile apps. When I see a Peertube link, most of the time I don't even bother opening it. Another issue is that if you want to upload a video, you first have to find a good instance and then create an account to do so.

And even then, OP was looking for a site that allows direct linking (which would play natively in every app), something that Peertube does not allow. And most of the sites he mentioned, allow uploading without an account.

So I think that Peertube is not a good suggestion here. At least not yet.

Yeah it sucks, and you cannot get good search results anywhere.
Not that you have many different options anyways...

Lemmy search is only searching for exact text you searched for. There is somewhat useful option to search only post titles.

Piefed search at least has some filters (nsfw, post type, instance software, minimum score...) and search operators (and, or, not...) but it doesn't have the search only post titles option.

Sometimes searching in google and just appending "lemmy" to your query will give surprisingly good result and sometimes it will return nothing.

Searxng has the search !bang for lemmy posts !lepo, which gives more or less the same results as lemmys search.

croc

Send files over the internet.

It's a small (several MB) CLI tool, that you download and run on both devices (sending and receiving one)
Type croc send [file(s)-or-folder] , you get the code phrase that you send to the person receiving the file.
On receiving device you type croc code-phrase and the file starts transferring.

End-to-end encrypted, and no need for port forwarding since it's sent over the relay (you can even host your own relay).
