It's intended to be temporary, but I think recent events mean that Reddit is on a decline from which it will never recover its former glory. I'd like to see things move on to decentralized options precisely because it's difficult or impossible to rebuild a community like /r/flashlight.

You're right. I'm the one who's confused because I'm not used to where to look in the kbin UI to see where a post came from.

It hasn't been that since it got self-posts and comments in 2006; it's a forum.
Lemmy and kbin are also forum software and should embrace being good at that.
