One of my very favourite bands. I have their self-titled, Green River, Bayou Country, WatPB, Cosmo's Factory on vinyl. Sadly, my copy of Green River isn't a good one (has been played to death by previous owners, understandably). I'm always on the lookout for a better copy of that album.
For me, they were just the epitome of what a band needs to aim for: being absolutely solid as a unit, having the basics totally mastered and only adding additional ingredients after that. They embody the "sometimes less is more" and "sometimes more is less" sentiment, like an wise instructor band for all bands.
