Forgive my ignorance as a non-Mac user, but isn't the screen that shows up when pressing WIN+Tab similar? It shows all your open windows and their content, plus (iirc) let's you switch to/create additional desktops.

I taught my wife about clicking the first item and shift-clicking the last item you want selected. She knew about holding CTRL to select/deselect multiple items but not that shortcut. That's when I realized I don't even remember learning most things about operating a computer.

I only recently found out about the middle mouse button thing when accidentally clicking on the new tab button with a folder location on my clipboard.

I'll start off by saying I'm not sure if prediction markets take crypto or not. However, even if they did, there's not really any crypto brokers that don't follow KYC (know your customer) policies. It would require a subpoena to get the information about a specific customer, but the ledger is public, so you can see everyone's transactions.

EMN reference in the wild! Don't forget to tune in to the livestream tonight at 6 PDT!

I use a cheap smartwatch, but I've been considering using one of those "liquid glass" screen protector solutions to combat scratches. I wonder if something like that would be good for a real watch?

HOLY SHIT, THIS IS WHERE MY NISSAN PATHFINDER GOT THIS SHIT FROM??? I hate it with a passion. The worst is going through an automatic car wash and HOPING it actually shifts into neutral. And then once it does shift into neutral, it beeps a warning on the dashboard and tells you how to exit the vehicle while in neutral. JUST LET ME SHIFT THE FUCKING THING LIKE A NORMAL VEHICLE AND YOU WOULDN'T HAVE TO DO THAT. I only drive it for work, and I swear I will never buy a personal vehicle newer than 2008 ever again.

ETA: You wanna guess how to guarantee it shifts into neutral? "Shift" into park, DON'T press the side button, which for some reason mechanically blocks the shifter from going into the reverse position only, and then move it towards the reverse position. If you move it in the other direction, there's nothing preventing you from shifting back into drive.

I will never understand why people always ask me questions like I work at whatever store I'm in. I always dress casual, and I'm usually walking with my wife, and yet people will still ask me where to find this item or that. Maybe it's just because live where I do and never wear jeans.

I'd be more worried about the corporate and state actors in your case. A criminal would have to already have intimate access to your home to snatch your video feed, so I wouldn't worry about that. If you do find a way to encrypt the video before saving to the HDD, that would protect you against police or insurance companies viewing the footage without your key.

ETA: Though, NOT providing the key may give them reason to believe you have something to hide and pit them against you. 🤷

Neat, I might have to try this out the next time I pull out my Chromebook. I did use it for a while when my desktop was out of commission, and this was the biggest issue I ran into. Had to dial YouTube videos down to 240p to get decent playback.
