ich hab eher das gefühl das ist das gewicht vom fahrschüler während der fragt.

stylistically, some of them are really pretty, some of them are really ugly.

as others have said, i think people are a bad idea, unless they have all kinds of local or special editions like with coins.

i think birds are kinda cool. not sure why only birds as animals, and not other animals too. i would have also liked trees or other plants, or even mushrooms. but oh well.

i don't like having people on bank notes because it is really hard to pick which ones are inportant, and you can't choose enough of them, many people will get left out. also, i don't like the idea of worshipping people.

well, in my opinion it is a bit of a paradox. i think you are partially correct.

your door analogy may be right from the perspective of the platform on which the cube is. however, one flaw is that the whole space is moving, not just the door. as soon as the cube enters that door, it will be inside that space, and if you consider the cube part of it, moving that space "downward", then due the cube being held by the platform, you could consider the cube moving "upward" in the space behind the orange portal. if you consider preserving momentum there, then as soon as the apparatus stops moving, the cube should not stop its momentum and move further up in the space.

or look at it like this: if you are behind the orange portal, meaning you are looking at the blue portal, you will see a cube moving towards you. then as soon as the platform hits the wall of the orange portal, the preserved momentum should make the cube "fly".

the change of perspective leads to two different conclusions, therefore i think it is a paradox.

the problem sort of is that there are two "spacetimes" that are kind of being changed. one could interpret it as both of these effects "pulling" against each other since when the cube has partially passed the portal, one part of the cube is "in one of the spacetimes", ant the other part in the other. ultimately though, the cube then would actually fly because in the limit (infinitesinally close to when the platform hits the portal wall) the cube is completely on the other side of the portal, so from the view of that spacetime, the cube does get pushed and should fly.

i don't even remember if it is possible in the video game for walls with portals that move. a video game would probablt have some kind of "center of mass", like a single vector of coordinates where describing the position of the object. there is no notion of "partially" being somewhere (except for collision boxes, but i don't mean that). so also from that view the box would fly. however, in most video games (with or without portals), if a platform moves up and suddenly stops, the object won't travel further in that direction anyway, especially not ulwards (even sideways usually not).

listen to the pete rock version of it. apparently (though not offivially confirmed), it's the original version.

Germany's

Not accurate. It is perhaps a German project, but it is not from the German government or anythibg similar with pulic money.

They are actuually consider themselves international ("Internationale Computerspielesammlung"), allthough depending on the interpretation, it refers to the games being international. They are just a project that happen to be in Germany via a classic eingetragener Verein (e.V.).

But at least the USK and a university are involved, which makes it a bit public.

wtf is this? a twitter post? i can't even see part 2 without logging in.

apparently the guy writing it is also not really well knowledged according the the hackernews comments.

what i've also learned from the hb commenrs is that the paper referenced (btw not to be found in thr twitter post) is not peer reviewed, it's just published on zonedo by a person who is apparently suspicious anyway in terms of quality of content.

i like the sentiment, but i hate the imagery.

a dad wanting to have his alone time with his hobby that is miniature trains is the thing that is supposed to indicate autism?

i don't like this because it stregthens ideas about which hobbies are "normal" and which hobbies are "weird" and only bearable for autistic people (i am exaggerating, of course).

wanting to have alone time is a completely normal thing for neurotypical people, and the dad even expresses it verbally, explicitly.

there is a green one around 2006 missing, i believe.

EDIT: i can't find anything about this online but i almost swear there was a tiny span of tine where there was a ui that had green elements.

mario odyssey being in the picture kind of already crosses the line since the game kind of makes some things difficult for you without internet connection.

but i believe you could definitely play the game if all nintendo servers go down, so it does count.

a note about the trampoline metaphor (because i have misunderstood this metaphor in the past): what is meant is placing heavy objects on the surface of a trampoline, without any bouncing, and then one observes the bending and stretching of that trampoline surface.

leaving eli5 territory, you imply that they are different, when really, special relativity is a special case of general relativity, the general case. special relativity is general relativity, but while ignoring gravity.

in more technical terms, in general relativity, the metric varies in space according to masses in space (contributing to gravity), while in special relativity, we simplify and have a constant metric (minkowski metric, minkowski space). getting away from the technical stuff: this means that in special relıtivity, changing frames of reference is easy, we can take very simple linear transformations of space. like when you hear "space and time is relative" and then one sees a change of reference, like "what if we look at it from the perspective of this person moving fast, as if they were stationary", it is a simple transformation of spacetime, basically transforming it uniformly. this is in contrast to general relativity, where we stretch and squash and warp spacetime nonuniformly.

also a nitpicky note about special relativity and "aging": it is not as simple as "moving fast means aging more slowly" (as of course, who is traveling fast and who is stationary is indeed relative). acceleration (the change of velocity/speed and direction performed for the return trip) is needed to explain this.

instead of the aging thing, which in my opinion is complicated and difficult to explain, especially intuitively, it is more intuitive to explain the classic examples of shining a flashlight on a moving train, or having two lightnings strike the front and back of a moving train at the same time from the perspective of an outside observer.

alter smart TVs...
