I have been playing Tainted grail: Fall of Avalon and having a great time. They didn't get the difficulty scaling as good as Gothic, but it's fun to explore.
And bonking enemies with a two hander and watching them fly never gets old.
I got around 10 hours in, but felt the resource gathering became a bit slow and tedious. Generally liked the rest of the game, maybe theres some mods to look at?
Books that goes from the sytem architecture and from there gives you context for what you are trying to do.
They work when your system won't and you can write in them.
But you should learn in a way that feels good to you.
Also, check out the forum for your distro and DE.
I played at least two demos, and the last one felt generally close to the original. It was however just the entrance bit. A few things were changed, like you can no longer jump straight up.
The original do work perfectly fine today for anyone that wants to experience the game.
I built a pc tower for the first time since '01 or '02, and the first game i played was Cyberpunk 2077. A lovely game with some genuinley great characters. I really love Judy.
But that doesn't hold a candle to Deus Ex, which i completed for the first time. What a great title. I must have played the first and part of the second level when it first came out, but the story was new to me.
Also shout out to Drova, a really fun game with tons of nods to the Gothic series. Difficult, but not punishing.
Cruelty Squad was so different. Looks like vaporware created in Duke3d engine, but plays like a modern shooter (kinda).
When they announced the pre-order bonus, it seems clear that this might not be a good day one purchase. Will probably give it a look some time, but i should replay Troikas version first.
Skull works great drunk, just need a few extra beer mats for eight players.
I'm also fond of drawing games; Telestration and Doodledash.
Games like Just one and Ito too. As long as you don't take the games too seriously.
I have Fallout New Vegas loaded up with the Viva New Vegas modlist, playing as a cowboy with no points put into stealth and going into repair, guns, meele and explosives instead.
It's a bit harder than normal New Vegas, but so fun and comforting.
I seem to remember needing a special drive to read the x-box discs. But i might be wrong.
Gaston Lagaffe by Franquin, not that easy to find outside of french and scandinavian versions, but a really funny comic.
Neo scavenger might fit the bill. You start out naked in a Detroit that has no regard for the player.

Took me almost 180 hours to complete, but i'm not rushing through games. Such a great world to explore, and some good improvements over Gothic 2.

Was not the best year for boardgames here, either. But we still had fun. Fewer big games and more of the silly shorter ones in '25.

I replayed The Witcher 3 when i got sick earlier this year. Needed something that didn't require too much thinking, and it worked for me.

Never played RDR 2 because of their abuse of workers, and wasn't planning on playing GTA. Please support smaller teams instead.
How about Jack in the dark, the little game that shipped with the cd version of the two first Alone in the dark games?
I used this one for FNV, and could download mods straight from Nexus to mod organizer.
Worked very easy for me.
