MotoGP. I've never met or interacted with anyone else who enjoys it. I freaking love it

Amen! An upvote wasn't enough. I have not seen this important point discussed anywhere. Not on podcasts, YouTube et al, protest organizations, blogs, social media, editorials, etc etc. Seems obvious to me, but notably absent from social discourse. Thank you for putting it out there!

I feel that. Personally, I've decided most times it is best not to read comments responding to anything I post. And if I have questions, I'll just research it myself rather than ask in the comments here. I see all social media as inherently toxic, and while Lemmy is less toxic than most, people still seem to enjoy shitting on others online whenever they can. And you never know if the jerk really is some high school douche or a Russian bot with an agenda or an intelligent adult with poor communication skills or a violently prideful idiot.

It helps to avoid all sensitive and important posts. There are no jerks in superbowl for example.

Agreed. Where do you draw the line between downvoting and potentially feeding the trolls? I'm having a hard time with that. When someone is acting like an ignorant contrarian, I'm inclined to ignore them.

This is the correct database to use. In the US, we haven't invested any official effort into updating our drinking water standards in many decades. So take whatever your municipality or water supplier says about your water quality, with a grain of salt. Maybe a very large bag of salt.

I was finally able to grow three of these from seed this past spring. I'm very excited. The two survivors are waiting out the heat wave on a windowsill. Any tips for a first timer who doesn't want to kill them? I plan to transplant outdoors a soon as daytime highs drop below 90F.

I remember having those comics back in the 90s. I believe they were destroyed in a flood. Makes me sad. They were so cool!

Same here. A buddy of mine was listening to YT Music on a speaker when an infomercial length ad started talking (uh, I mean, lying) about all the how and why the United States has the best healthcare system in the world and there's no good reason to change any of it.

My head almost exploded. What. The. Fuck.

I keep a variety of chile pepper plants indoors over winter and deal with this constantly. Here's what I've learned about aphids. They will kill your plant if you aren't vigilant about them. A neem oil spray can help but won't solve the problem entirely. Some formulations of neem oil are harder on the plants than others so test your solution every time you get a new bottle. If you have a handheld shower wand, it is worthwhile to put your plants in the shower about once a month and blast off the little buggers. And regularly fertilizing your plants will keep them strong enough to resist the attack. The best method I have seen, is to use water from a fish tank to water the plants. Good luck!
