Bleach, probably? My friends in school dragged me into an anime club they were running back when the first season was airing.
I definitely saw other shows before that -- Pokemon, of course, and bits and pieces of Ranma, Speed Racer, and other shows that occasionally made it to broadcast TV -- but I didn't distinguish them from other cartoons.
Well, I've seen Fate/Stay Night and Fate/Zero and a few of the other spin offs but I've kind of lost track of the Fate/Word Salad series at this point... ๐๏ธ
The Ghost in the Shell - [...] I wish that the main / overarching plot would advance. So far, all I am seeing is the police's counter-terrorist unit going around fighting crime.
I haven't seen the new one, but for SAC the show had a mix of "stand alone" episodes (one offs) and "complex" episodes (that were all connected to the main story).
For you, maybe, but for me it's my desktop's clock -- with my microwave as the fallback (e.g. when I'm playing a fullscreen game).
I basically only check the time on my phone if I'm out and about (which is... rare) or when I'm getting up/going to bed -- which also serves as a check for messages (since I have my phone on Do Not Disturb 24/7).
I actually bought a physical wall clock earlier this year thinking that I could stick it somewhere more convenient to read than the microwave, but the ticking was too damned annoying.
Please comment with your favorite roadkill recipes.
I, uh, have never cooked roadkill... but if I were put on the spot I suppose I could try to make gumbo out of it?
e.g. Make a roux, add chopped celery, onion, bell pepper (Cajun "Trinity"), plus garlic, thyme, bay leaf, salt, black pepper, chicken stock, beer, the meat, and a spoonful of hot sauce (e.g. Crystal or Tabasco). Simmer for 3 hours or more. Serve over white rice.
I've been reading a fair bit of old, out of copyright fiction over the last couple years. I recently finished Carry On, Jeeves by P. G. Wodehouse which was amusing. You can find a copy here: https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/65974
Probably not what you're after OP, but here's what I do to remember where I left off watching things.
I use a plain text file called watch.txt that I stuck in my home directory. I jot down the name of whatever I was watching, the date, context about the disc/season/episode number, plus the timestamp I stopped at or "done" if I stopped at the end of an episode/disc.
e.g. here's a snippet from it:
Evangelion 2026-07-20 Disc 4 29:25
To Love Ru 2026-06-16 Disc 2 E14 done
Konosuba 2026-06-27 S2 E01 done
I don't have a specific idea to suggest making a piece with that palette, but if you like Plan 9 you might enjoy taking a look through !unix_surrealism@lemmy.sdf.org -- maybe some of pmjv's art will inspire you?
Hmm. Not sure I've ever actually managed to be properly scared by an anime, but Shiki is probably up there as far as apprehension from atmosphere + concern about what my subconscious might recycle and throw at me at weird hours of the night...
The only thing that's coming to mind right now for media that properly scared me is Subnautica -- particularly a certain predator in Below Zero that triggered a panic attack. That's not an anime though...
Honestly not sure. I wouldn't be surprised if it breaks something with D-Bus based on skimming the man pages, but I've never dug into it. Its not exposed in containers I run though, and I haven't run into anything that broke there as a result... ๐คท๏ธ

No.
Although I did go and take a walk outside yesterday -- which is, admittedly, rather unusual for me!
I'm not sure where it came from, but FMA also came to mind for me too...

Having never eaten either, my gut feeling is squirrel... but that's a pure guess.
No idea how you manage to get whale roadkill though. ๐๏ธ
Ooookay then... ๐คจ

Nothing fancy, but it works for me.

Is it really worth building a cube out of the things or would slapping a filter on each side of the box fan work about as well?
Edit: Thanks everybody! Got a lot more responses than I expected ๐ ๏ธ

Well, there is
/etc/machine-idon Linux...Presumably Moo Deng would be the water type... would Punch be the fire type and Jimothy the grass type? Or, is it the other way around?
