The problem is that even if they don't get desperate in the sense that they actually feel emotions and are self-aware, their observable output/behavior still matches up well enough with that of actual humans to make our existing vocabulary around human emotions and behaviors useful to analyze, talk about and predict it. They absolutely will start talking and behaving like humans that are getting desperate, according to the article even to the point of individual agents talking about sacrificing themselves for the benefit of the group. Your description of "just keep hacking away at a problem" doesn't quite do that justice.

Or rather, on the world and character of the game, but not really the game itself I guess, from what I can gather 😅 tbh I think it's an advantage to not be familiar with the game, because that way I wasn't able to foresee some of the twists and character developments that are quite obvious to someone who knows these characters. Definitely check it out, both the animation and the writing are absolutely top-notch! Just, uh, have tissues ready

I sailed through school and university with great grades with barely any effort, never felt any kind of pressure around that on me. The worst it got was the occasional vocab test that I put off learning for until the evening before. I liked school. And I still get this kind of dream occasionally. So at this point, it seems more like anxiety will just latch onto that kind of thing, whether it was actually traumatic or not

I mean, as far as I know that, plus the rough shape/outline of each word, is how fast non-dyslexic readers read in general, at least for common words, haha. Actually reading letter-by-letter is relatively rare
So I've been wondering about this, does this kind of font make reading easier immediately for you, or does it take a bit until you've gotten used to and, idk, learned the shapes of the individual letters, after which it's then faster?

That's putting it mildly - every 3D print has tons of small crevices and imperfections even just from the layer lines alone, it's just completely impossible to keep a 3D print clean between repeated food contact. Unless it's sealed with resin or similar, but that's also not easy to get right.
