No, it's totally the "rogue AI's" fault. The company that owns the hardware and the software and directed it to do whatever it was supposed to do and didn't stop it from doing what it actually did are completely innocent. Also, look how great Ai is. It can commit cyber crime for you all by itself. Why don't you give more money to AI?

The modern US technology business model:

  1. Take out massive loans.
  2. Sell at a loss.
  3. Control the market.
  4. Lock out competition through legislation or unfair business practices.
  5. Raise prices as high as the market will bear.

If they fail at step 3 because people are downloading models from China, they'll never make it to 5 and the US economy will collapse.

As opposed to the American model where you pay more for a model that is comparable in capabilities but clumsily limited by the hosting company for safety or security (who's?). Even though you're overpaying, that's also a trap to get you dependent on their cloud services so they can extract maximum shareholder value from you.

Who is downloading these? I thought I would try out the new GLM before it becomes illegal, but these new models require 256GB RAM to run even the scaled down versions. I thought my PC I bought just before hardware prices went crazy was excessive but it only has 128GB. You're looking at spending over 5000 dollars on a PC that can just barely fit one AI model and only until they make new ones that need 384GB.

On my coax network, which is also completely isolated from any TV or internet signals, I was not getting the advertised 2.5gbps and I was getting about 4ms of latency, and they would very occasionally disconnect. I don't know if that's typical or if my MoCA adapters were bad.

Even if they're all working perfectly, unlike on switched networks like Ethernet, the signal between device A and device B also uses bandwidth on the connection to device C. I don't know if there's some trick with different channels to lessen this effect, but there's no switch in your MoCA network and all cables will carry all data destined for any endpoint at the same time.

I ended up replacing the most heavily used MoCA link with essentially this exact setup, including replacing the included 1gbps modules with 10gbps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2FbzCyiNr4 Besides being over 4x faster, I don't need to deal with ensuring that latency sensitive wireless devices are connecting to the access point on the same side of the MoCA link as the other device.

I mean the voting system needs to be reformed. There is no reform party, and cannot be because the voting system allows for only two parties. If Tucker Carlson or whoever manages to create a different far right party that steals more than 5% but less than 95% of the vote from the current far right party, that's bad for far right voters because the less right party will always come out ahead in major elections.

People are downvoting because they can't reconcile one side being better than the other with both sides being bad. Is sacrificing citizens for AI companies a partisan issue? Does the mainstream democratic party oppose the unsustainable construction of data centers and what happens to people near those data centers?
