Makes me really sad when people can't make a cake without a box or can't make a basic roux or something. Really take for granted my privellege to have been exposed to basic stuff like that.

One clue to me is the "how many times you moved" statement. One actual human "move" is worth hundreds of what the site calls a move. A human would notice that but the reality of it means nothing to an AI.

Secondly just the language used being quite dramatic but also generic.

Was going to say this myself and then saw your comment. Totally agree. 'Accidently' practically implies that the record keeping itself only happened because some pencils happened to fall on paper. They did exactly what they intended to and used it for their own purpose. It just turned out to have a different purpose, too.

I feel pretty mixed about this to be honest. I haven't bought a Pi in a long time but from what I can see the 5 is pretty clever. It's expensive but RAM is insanely expensive right now. 16GB of RAM alone is expensive. That same RAM jump would cost thousands from Apple.

Meanwhile, the Pi 3 is still on sale for around £30, and the Pi Zero for closer to £10. If you genuinely want something for embedded systems or running scripts the older models are still fantastic for that. The Pi 5 is a viable desktop computer and just in a different category IMO.

Doomerism like this is not healthy. Things are dire and will get worse for a long time, but the idea that civilisation is guaranteed to collapse is the kind of doom propaganda that fuels inaction. There is so much we can do, and the outcome for future generations better with every positive step we take. What we do does matter, and there's a good chance our core societies will still be going strong in 50 years.

I get that vibe. I've seen a different photo with an extremely similar background that was definitely AI. This is kind of the most average looking UK houses, no house numbers, no logo on the security decide. Definitely suspicious.

British, yeah. We just didn't anticipate cereal being so sugary. I also couldn't handle the drinks either lol. Seeing so many people drinking these huge drinks and knowing it was real sugar and not even a substitute is honestly one of my main memories of being in the US, which feels pretty sad. Amazing views at least!

I remember visiting some friends in the US they were so excited to have us try all the famous cereal brands like Fruit Loops etc. It was so sugary it was totally inedible to us, absolutely disgusting.

That said there obviously is cereal out there that can be eaten healthily.

Thanks for clarifying and sorry for speaking for you 😅

To be fair, as far as I can tell the stats here are a bit misleading. Hospital visits from kinfe crime are down, but general knife crime was at its highest in 2025. I don't know what the specifics are of that though.

I'd like to think that the person from feddit.uk knows that! I obviously don't know you're background either but FYI I'd say that this sentence does just refer to a generally conservative person. In the UK we don't really refer to individuals by their party name directly like Republican/Democrat in the US etc. Someone who literally votes Conservative you might refer to as a tory, though there's not really parallels to other political parties. Sorry if this not news to you!
