My problem with this particular argument is that M$ attained this dominance not because of the quality of its products, or because its C-suites are geniuses, but by decades of lobbying and monopolistic market practice.
I setup Debian with MATE for a friend who had only used Window$ and had little to none technical knowledge, then setup cronjobs for 1) upgrading all installed packages 2) her data to be rsynced between the two built-in SSDs. It's been a year now, she has asked for help only twice, both of them involving complex third-party software.
Is it really made in Spain ? I'm pretty tired of the 'Designed in Germany...Made in China' / 'Responsibly made in PRC with Swiss technology' macro-bullshit.
Given that one of the most popular Scheme implementations is Chicken Scheme (Chicken for short), there is a non-zero chance of actual job offerings asking for 'experience in Chicken'.
To be fair, reality is actually worse than that, since M$ has already said under oath during a trial in France that it is unable to protect the data of EU customers from the prying eyes of Gringoland's authorities. Switzerland is not EU, but of course the same applies.
