I'd always used one of these machines because that's how I'd seen my parents drink it. But someone at work brought in a French press and it blew my mind. I was already considering replacing the drip machine but I immediately picked up a French press instead. Plus it was creaper than a new machine and no more paper filters.
Oh ya there's more around for sure, this is in a pretty remote area. Rattlesnakes get in there occasionally and I'm really lucky I haven't encountered that. At least in that building.

Serving size is 1 cup. ~25% of the recommended daily sugar. 1 cup doesn't fill a bowl or your stomach so you eat 2 cups, boom 50% of your daily sugar. You grab a can (12oz) of Dr Pepper with lunch? Boom that's another ~75% of your daily recommended sugar.
It's not even dinner and your over your sugar quota. Like 80 grams of sugar in two items.
I mean, this sounds like a perfect job for Linux but if that's not what you're looking for then I'd stick with Windows 10.
It also sounds like a swap partition might help with your memory issues. Set aside a couple gigs from your ssd to use when your ram is maxxed out. Not sure what the process is in Windows but certainly wouldnt hurt to try.
As others have said, email can be a tough one but there are other alternatives to Gmail that could work for you.
Start small, an unused pc or I've even seen some people use an old phone for some projects. Just running a service or two and see how it goes. I started with Jellyfin on a Linux mint PC. But you might setup Adguard Home to help stop adds at network level. Then progressing to bigger systems, more services, etc.
As far as security, if you don't expose ports through your firewall on your home network then your services are only available if you're connected to it. So if someone's not connected to your WiFi they have no access. You technically don't ever have to open ports thanks to services like Tailscale or Pangolin. They'll act like a vpn and you can turn it on/off when you need to access stuff remotetly. For the sake of privacy, Tailscale runs all their own servers but you can run Headscale or Pangolin on your own VPS to completely control your network. If you jump for a VPS or remote server with enough storage you could probably store some of your more important/would dread losing stuff on there. Alternatively, setup a second server in a family members/friends house and keep a secondary storage there.
I have really enjoyed Pangolin. It has a really simple installer and there are a lot of security permissions controls in lock down services you might want to expose to the public internet. It's an almost corporate level VPN solution.
Oh and Docker Compose. So many projects run in Docker and in my opinion Compose is the easiest way to run them.
