Playstation customer since my first job at McDonalds let me buy the original first model PSX, all the way through the PS5 --- fuuuuuuuuck you Sony. I've got a PC and you can eat 10 tons of my shit right now with this and your cancellation of PC support. We'll see who wins.

The overwhelming majority of individuals in the US with 401ks were forced to buy SpaceX stocks through target date funds, mutual funds, and indexes, because 8 different funds have >10% of their entire stock as SpaceX, and 4 of those have >20% of their stock as SpaceX. This was all a fucking grift and Americans who have done what they were supposed to by saving will pay the price. Fuck Elon Musk sideways, I will pop a bottle of champange when he dies and celebrate it as a yearly holiday.

It's a very easy migration from Bitwarden to a self-hosted and OSS Vaultwarden, if you have means to self-host. Appreciably, many don't want to self-host their own apps and I'm not defending Bitwarden's enshittification at all. It comes for all tech at some point :(

The problem is that repeated failed attempts to impeach galvanize his supporters and prove to the right that it doesn't matter what they're doing, they'll get away with it. Which then just pushes them further. It's not convincing anyone who doesn't already think he's a pedophile rapist facist, on the contrary, it's making the people who don't already believe that further believe that the left is just making bullshit up because if Trump were really the antichrist facist, the impeachment wouldn't fail.

Failing to impeach Trump over and over isn't functional progress. If the democrats want to do anything, they should spend 100% of their time obstructing every nomination and every bill put forward by this administration, and spend every other bit of time they have gumming up the works with bills we know will fail to undo the damage being done. At least in those cases there's a potential they could actually do some good.

Trump will never be successfully impeached. Anyone who thinks so at this point is an absolute pelican.

Can't say I disagree. I hate that forums are dying/have died. But I guess that's typical, I came from IRC and forums and still prefer those to what we have now.

That said, the reason I posted it is because the Discord has thousands of active users, so whether or not I love the format, it does seem to be the most populated place to go to get information. Full disclosure, I'm also a moderator on the Discord, so I am undoubtedly biased.

Yeah it's awesome, you get to spend all of your time chasing stupid issues like it picking the dumbest artist name possible and using it for 30 albums because one artist was on two of those albums, or deciding that 50% of your artists should be Lastname, Firstname but the other 50% should be Firstname Lastname. Then half the time it will use its own metadata for cover art and the other half it'll use metadata in the files. Doesn't matter how meticulous you are with your music tags an whether or not you have musicbrainz'd all of them to be consistent, it still finds a way to screw things up pretty much reliably.

But it's all worth it because PlexAmp is surprisingly good once you've done the legwork and fixed all the stupid shit and I would much rather buy music directly and self-host my own music streaming system than pay spotify monthly.

Sexism and racism. It's absolutely foolish for anyone to think that Americans won't abstain from voting, or worse vote against a woman or a non-white person. It's abysmal to think about, but it's true.

If a woman or a non-white person runs, there will be a subset of the population who refuse to vote for them specifically because of their race or gender.

It's why the republicans always run an old white male asshole, because no one refuses to vote for old white male assholes specifically out of principle, but a large amount of people (larger than you or I would likely think) will absolutely vote against a woman or a non-white person specifically due to their race or gender.

Using a Microsoft cloud account to log into my local computer means Microsoft owns credentials to a device in my house, and if they get hacked (which they do, all the fucking time), my device is less secure because of it and my data is less secure because of it.

There's absolutely no need for my copy of Windows to require me to login using a cloud-based account.

You can use all manner of apps to disable the telemetry and privacy nonsense that people have issues with Windows about (and I similarly find Microsoft's privacy-last approach to be tedious), but if your computer requires you to use a cloud account to log in, then your computer is susceptible to that cloud account being hijacked or hacked and Microsoft has given absolutely no good reason for this to be the case.

Logging in to a Microsoft account doesn't provide any real benefit to the user at all, the best you can say is that you're not prompted to log in again if you run the Microsoft Store or the Xbox app, and that's not a compelling benefit.
