As per the article, in Canada, Amber Alerts are sent at the top level. Meaning even if your phone lets you set different sounds for different levels of government alert, Amber Alerts are sent at the "Your life is in imminent danger if you don't take immediate action" level every time.

I also imagine that abstinence-only sex education doesn't usually mean teaching safe "outercourse", mutual masturbation, etc...so they have the keys and the car, somewhere they need to be, and nobody tells them about taxis or busses or bicycles...
My hypothesis is that Lemmy is very pro-Linux, and Steam has made gaming easier on Linux while also bringing Linux to more mainstream eyes.
As well, the younger crowd on Lemmy are probably on the younger side that grew up with Steam being basically infinite games available at low prices without having to resort to piracy, rather than the older crowd which first experienced Steam as software overhead needed to run a game that was already paid for.

Rideshares let me call them through an app, track my ride by GPS, let me see the full fare (including all taxes and fees) up-front, and always let me make 100% of my payment by credit card without complaint from the driver.
If taxis offered that where I live, Uber would've been dead on arrival like it is in Korea.
They're not Canadian-owned. All they've done is become the most common drive-thru coffee chain, while wrapping up the Canadian identity and trying to sell it back to Canadians.

Some games are explicitly plays or shows (SMB3). But I like the idea of the games being homages to his acts, or even retellings of sorts!

My rule of thumb is to tip more to service workers that incur more personal expenses.
Restaurant workers? 10~15%. (They make at least minimum wage where I live just like takeout/fast food workers. I wish I could tip them 0% culturally)
Barbers/hairstylists? 15~20%.
Rideshare drivers get 20% minimum or more if it's a cheap fare.
