imo a subscription service is far more ethical than the current model. Its a very straightforward transaction. Now I have to convert real money to a fake currency (in set amounts of their choosing), purchase a pack of some kind, and gamble my way to a new pointless cosmetic item.

I know you don't mean to support them. But personally, I think your tolerance is unnecessary at best and harmful at worst. I want to cultivate a space free of any ideologies that are inherently hateful.

I have seen enough to know that anything maga has no place in any community I wish to be a part of. It does not deserve to be taken seriously. It does not deserve a platform. It should be treated as the revolting, thinly veiled, fascism that it is.

Anything less would be an insult to those that are harmed most by Trump's actions.

Jobs come up pretty damn often in conversation with strangers. If they ask, youre obliged to tell them the truth. Doing so would hardly constitute bragging in my opinion.

I know everyone here says that this is somewhat safe because the employees are told not to interfere. But what you really need to worry about is the store building a case against you across multiple instances of shoplifting, and then reporting you to the police as soon as you've stolen a felony amount.

Just checked in game and he actually does swing with his left. Never noticed until now. Apparently newer games retconned him to be right handed

Where are the actual sources of this information? Are there police interview transcripts available somewhere? Are there reports about a transcript from reputable sources? So far all I've seen is wild speculation by untrusted sources.

As of now, all I actually know about this guy is that he shot charlie kirk.

Ok, so now there's gonna be a new top 5 important maga person. And guess what, they're gonna do all the same shit charlie kirk did. None of this is new. These ideologies don't need these specific assholes to spread.

No, I'm sorry. There wasn't anything special about charlie fucking kirk. He was a shithead who spread hate, and now he's a corpse. What is it you think is so special about him? What is his magic gift that no other right wing grifter can replace?

Imo this is arguable, because there was really nothing special about charlie kirk. He was a cog in a machine that will be quickly replaced. The real impact of the assassination will come from people's reaction to it, not the lack of charlie kirk.

Personally I doubt most of these people are genuinely worried about being harassed by the state for publicizing those beliefs. In some cases maybe they should be worried, but in reality I think most of them are more concerned with social pressures.

If you voice those opinions, hordes of people will attack you for it. And that's a product of both wide spread conservatism influencing real peoples view of the situation, and social media platforms actively crushing dissent and pushing the narrative that aligns with their interests.

In all likelihood my comments, despite being made with no vpn or tor, will never result in any action taken against me. That's simply because I don't pose any material threat to the state or its power. America maintains its illusion of freedom by explicitly allowing dissent, as long as it doesn't have teeth. I am simply not worth the trouble.

Its in moments like these that I really appreciate non corporate social media. Everywhere outside the fediverse all I see is people freaking out, acting like this is the first shooting to ever happen in the united states. Even supposed leftists are just like "I don't agree with the man but no one deserves to get killed over their beliefs".

They seem to have forgotten that people get killed over way dumber shit all the time. Personally I care about all the other shootings a lot more than this one. Especially the school shooting in Colorado that happened the same afternoon, which is being mostly ignored.

There are even lots of comments that condemn anyone making light of his death, or even just making comments about his politics. This dissent they condemn is almost nowhere to be found though, because algorithms bury it all straight to the bottom. The only opinion allowed to be seen is "I'm horrified look at me".

Coming back to a place where a real discussion can be had makes me realize just how important this project really is. We need more spaces that we truly own.
