I write C code for complex embedded products and systems in an industry where change is intentionally a long and drawn out process. Projects take years and support contracts last decades. AI isn't widely used but it's available. Most of those that I work with don't use it at all, and those that do use it use it for cursory tasks like generating reports for management - busy work stuff. There's talk of it eventually being used for writing and updating tests, the least favorite part of the job. Will it come for more aspects of my job? Probably, and probably sooner than I want.
We meager 2% of browser users are not the customer base Mozilla is targeting for with stuff like this. This isn't for us - it's for the other 98% that Mozilla desperately wants to attract. I wouldn't necessarily say we 2% don't matter to Mozilla, but the fact is, losing us to gain something like 10% of the market would be a huge success for Mozilla.
I enabled "Screen Time Reminders" this morning but haven't seen a reminder all day. It's not clear how it's supposed to work. The description says: "Get gentle reminders when you're spending a long time in an app". No mention of what's considered a "long time".
On Reddit. That subreddit with pics of people who have passed - last images or something. The picture was a daughter, maybe 7 or 8, asleep on her dad's arm, with the dad also asleep. The post was by the mom who explained that her daughter died in a house fire and not long after the dad killed himself.
I think about that post and picture now and then. I've got a daughter around the same age who often falls asleep on my arm in the same manner. I don't know what I'd do in the same situation.
This was several years ago. I found the post recently after a lot of searching, but contents had been deleted, and I couldn't find it on any of the archive sites.
Surprised to find a fellow pdfxchange user. I use it for work where I deal with a lot of electronics/components datasheets. Pdfxchange's search functionality/UI is superior to every other PDF viewer/editor I've tried. I'd love to find an open-source alternative.

What's going on at the standalone ERs? Genuinely curious.
I have a few near me, but would never consider going to one if it's going to cost me the same as a regular ER that's most likely better equipped and staffed.
But ministry officials said the lights would not have been turned on even if they had been in service because there was sufficient visibility that day.
Right, because there's already runway holding position markings that you do not cross without clearance - every pilot from private on up knows about these. The mentioned lights are for low visibility situations which this was not.
I also quit in the last season - not sure what episode but it was towards then end. Enough time has past that I have no interest in finishing it. I don't get so involved in series since then.

Yeah, I agree. Mozilla is just jumping on the bandwagon. It's unlikely to change anything for them.

Selfhost Vikunja as a sync server (CalDAV) for tasks.org. Vikunja also has desktop apps or you can just use the web interface.

I'm not in IT and I'm a programmer / software engineer. I don't get why people always equate the two.
