Yeah this, but also people are seriously not a monolith based on made up demographic categories. Some Latinos identify as white and/or american only and are racist/xenophobic against other brown immigrants. Some Latinos are from communist countries so the red scare works on them. Some Latinos identify so strongly with being "good" people that when Trump talks about getting rid of the illegals and criminals, they take those words at face value. There's so many really fucking dumb naive people out there that vote, Latinos included.
I think this also incentivizes not healing from your trauma in order to keep the identity...
My dad isn't perfect, and he suffered horrible neglect as a kid which caused narcissistic tendencies and definitely left a mark on us kids, but I'd say I'm pretty over the "trauma" aspect of it. We have a good relationship now. However, I still want to be someone's cute puppy girl uwu (/jk)
I know this is ideal but circumstances can change over a decade of owning a pet. I have regrets over an old family dog that we neglected due to financial strain (parents) and academic stress (kids). We loved that dog to death and we failed her. Our biggest mistake was believing that big dogs belong outside because that was the cultural norm, but the current family dog gets to come wherever we are. I guess the point is people aren't perfect and we make mistakes and hopefully we learn to be better.
Not surprising. LA is almost 50% Latino but you wouldn't know it talking to any white transplant in the entertainment industry. They have blinders that prevent them from noticing any non-whites.
You sound salty about rice that looks pretty mediocre. I'm not shitting on enjoying mediocre food that only tastes marginally like the name you're claiming it is (I cook worse meals pretty regularly that I enjoy), but I'm not really sure what you expected posting it online. You want your online parents to say they're proud of you?
It depends on the industry but from my experience the c-suite and partner level positions are the "you made it" role and the one right below is the hardest job with all the real hands on work to prove they deserve the promotion.
This works for me too. Being overly analytical about your feelings overlaps a lot with rumination which is like letting the cogs in your brain use up energy to go nowhere (and in my controversial opinion, depression is a core symptom of low energy not a standalone disorder). Practicing mindfulness with gratitude is more grounding to be able to feel your emotions and understand what your body is trying to tell you rather than "analyze" why your body isn't listening to your orders. Regarding the gratitude part, I prefer to do it in nature and feel lucky to be alive to experience its beauty.
I wish I could grow vegetables. I've killed so many plants trying to get into the hobby that I had to retire to stop terrorizing the local plant populations.
Whether conscious or not is up for debate but race is often used in movies around the world to show the contrast between good/attractive/wealthy (white) vs bad/ugly/poor (dark skinned) characters. Even within the same country, main characters are white and tall while servants and background characters are darker and shorter.
I know it's not even about local populations in the US because a lot of immigrants in LA specifically are light-skinned but those actors usually end up playing white characters more often.
I'll be honest, I skimmed the last section where you attempted to explain complex neurology you likely don't understand (I've been there). Have you had a sleep study? Have you researched orexin deficiency? I'm not saying you have a sleep disorder but I have narcolepsy and it's like ADHD but worse and stimulants alone will make the exhaustion worse. Also to your point on doctors not understanding unless you explain your symptoms exactly how they expect the presentation, I remember one visit where I just said "if I don't lay down right now I'm going to cry" but to me I didn't feel sleepy, so yeah.
Can you understand people are stupid? I have narcolepsy and feel exactly like you do. My parents still think I'm just depressed and will eventually get over it. I've had multiple neurologists see my symptoms and think the best thing to do is nothing. My current neurologist (I'm on my 3rd) finally gave me an EEG and MRI for possible stroke and seizures. Doctors will look at you and just see a young woman and think it is impossible for you to have any health issues. You have to fight to get care. You can't resign yourself to this life.
Girl...I don't know what to tell you other than I have bad news for you. I have narcolepsy and this is my every day. This is definitely an undiagnosed medical condition for you.

Good riddance

It sounds like he was pushed out by the group but had nowhere else to go :(

Well money would be a huge motivator on its own. Unless his idea of motivation is to bring out the whips..

Your local library doesn't have one?
My boyfriends dog sure thinks she's his girlfriend when she squeezes between us at night and kicks me away🥴

Yeah these people aren't choosing between homelessness and meta, they're choosing making the most money vs slightly less money

You started to lose me at the end with the sci-fy logic of "natural law." But it sounds like a good movie premise.
