Correct me if I am wrong but in my opinion what businesses want is consistency, I think business owner should not be scared that new government will increase or decrease taxes, to be more simple it just should not be frustrating to start a business and I think consistency is one of the things that can help it. I am not businessman or politician so correct me if I am wrong as I said
I don't really think those people would join fediverse tbh mostly because lack of algorithm driven feed, Twitter or X is for now center for new trends going in the world will it be political or is influencer drama, compared to X fedivese lacks many things that is needed to support needs of X users, also take in consideration that X is basically main social media many influencers and politicians and so on use to post updates and such and many people are using X for just that. As far as I know there is no verification checkmark on fediverse so it's gonna be hard to get influencers here (which I don't really even want to tbh), so they will probably move to bluesky or threads
Nice news, I am not sure bout the ban tho, I hate X as much as a next guy but if we ban it I feel like those degenerate people would infest other social media services. I would prefer regulating and only ban if X will not comply (which it probably will not tbh but still worth trying in my opinion). But it's also interested what could be new X if it gets banned? Threads is not ready I feel, it doesn't has many X features, maybe bluesky but time will tell
Seems fair to me especially considering that google has no option to disable ai summery like duckduckgo has. I guess we can say same with duckduckgo and bing and such search engines but I am not sure if having option to disable ai summery would make a difference in court. But hey I am all there for making example out of google
So it's basically OS with only purpose to explore how cpu works as far as I get it. Seems pretty interesting and usable for projects that work mainly on low level. But it's interesting why results different between M1 and Intel or AMD chips? Maybe it's because M1 is arm architecture but I am not sure
I am not sure if u have read unabomber's manifesto "Industrial society and it's future" but he basically calls this money addiction and such just fulfilment for power process, I can't really type all of the things he says here but I would recommend reading his paper, also take in consideration that it's just one of the options and there are different kinds of addictions with different reasons but I think you are talking about specifically one Unabomber is explaining, just my guess tho
Seems there's lot of mess in the company all because of Microsoft or name it greed or late stage capitalism but still something tells me GitHub is just too important to lose dominance in next few years, after that if any other company takes over it'll probably be gitlab but it's really hard to speculate on this kind of things, I hope Microsoft leaves GitHub alone, they probably will fix themselves, lot's of developers depend on Github and migration is not easy thing for big repos I expect.
Yeah I guess people doesn't really care all that much about giving information to big tech, it's so normalized today, in my university (I am a student) when I tell people I don't use Instagram or TikTok and whatnot they look at me like I am crazy, tbh maybe if we define crazy as "not doing what everyone around you does" maybe I am
Nice but it's kinda wierd how people decided to use these browsers after this new law was passed, I mean it's so easy to install apps on smartphones right now but people needed this choice screen to choose another browser of their liking? I would guess it's probably old people that switched that didn't know how to install browser without it, I googled but couldn't find any prove of this tho so it's just my guts
Not really, you can watch video about it on youtube channel "not just bikes", he makes great points about why this is bad idea and why best way to reduce fatality and car crashes is to just make better alternatives to cars such as bus network or trams (street cars) or bike lanes or anything really
Nice to see decreasing numbers, I thinks it's because of many reasons but mainly investment in public transportation and passager trains as well as decreasing population. Article doesn't really talk bout what cars had bigger fatality rates but If u have to guess it was probably big American cars (forgot the name)
It's really sad state programmers (especially juniors) are in right now, I guess it will get worse over time. I had a meeting with recruiters in my university, many of em just said to me send email and useless stuff that don't go anywhere but couple of em said they're don't even hire developers anymore and make AI do the entire job (I went on one of their websites and it didn't work :)). Also hackathons are really in bad state, most of em advertise ai and vibe coding, idk how anyone can learn from hackathons in this state they are in
I knew this would happen but didn't though it was happening right now, I think if cities or entire countries won't do anything bout it right now then as time passes this cars will much more than 5, also I genuinely think in the future they could program this cars specifically for them to get in a public transport way so it will slow down and more people will go with waymo or whatever
Just like how youtuber "not just bikes" said it would be, cities would be much better improving public transportation than complying with whatever big tech companies tell em to do

I think it will happen eventually but I doubt it will be in just a few years, hope to be proven wrong tho
