But my generous take on it is that she originally didn't know that the wealthy elites among her people were fucking the children among her people and once she realized that, she rebelled against it.

It looks like some of his supporters are starting to see the con job, or maybe they already did, but they're starting to realize that allying with a man who will betray you as soon as you're no longer useful is a bad strategy.
I appreciate your efforts, one thing I'm sure of is that, "I alone can fix it" is the antithesis of what we need right now. It's going to take a lot of open, compassionate people to make things better.
What's our way forward? I don't know and I'm struggling to figure it out, but the more I get into it, the more I come back to ideas like curiosity, authenticity, and connecting with people outside our comfortable social groups.

I don't know how the law works on this, but it's so fucked up that they carefully redacted these guys while exposing several of the victim's names. It's pretty clear who the FBI and DOJ work for and it isn't the American people.

I'm not enough of an expert in cryptography to know for sure if packet inspection would allow you to tell if a ciphertext could be decrypted by a second "back door" key. My gut says it's not possible, but I'd be happy to be proven wrong.

I agree. This is what I've observed: Pride and moral superiority are the primary sources of political extremism. Any attempt to reason in that emotional state is going to be filled with a ton of confirmation bias. Mix in some greed and it gets even worse.
These people have a tendency to strongly identify with their particular brand of ideology and consider any challenge a threat. They label people that disagree as evil or stupid which makes them feel even more certain in their moral superiority. They close their minds to any dissenting opinions and hide in their echo chambers continuing the vicious cycle because being right feels good and being wrong feels bad.
Some humility and genuine curiosity are ways to reverse the cycle.
That's how most libertarians I've talked to think. There are some people who call themselves libertarians who actually just want the government out of the way so mega corps can control everything, but i don't think Jimmy Wales is one of them.
