I’m from Maui, and most of my family lives on the island... the last several days have been really really hard. My home will never be the same, some of what burned down is absolutely irreplaceable, and the loss of life is truly awful
Ugh, and of course because of that people have been dragging their feet on making necessary changes to the point of doing basically nothing anyway… I feel like the risk of people saying it’s too extreme maybe would have been worth instilling a sense of panic in people over climate change? Feels panic worthy to me

But then again, all the climate change models predicted a much more conservative timeline on when we would be experiencing the effects of climate change than what is actually happening in the real world now.. so idk, scary shit man ☹️
