Yeh only tech platforms are streaming. Was hoping it was on aro video ondemand but looks like it isn’t. In the end I sailed the high seas for it. I’ll buy the bluray later to absolve myself .
Karen Hao’s book covers it. But essentially correct. A bit of detail with the family stuff but we do know the guy is machiavellian , a shapeshifter , and that the family did turn their backs on his sister who was effectively homeless and had to turn to prostitution. Needless to say Sam wasnt short of a penny prior to OpenAI days even . Hao is a decent journalist, and her book is the best summary so far I think. This stuff is less interesting than the rest to me however but I guess posing questions of character such as this can help paint the picture.
Kagi. Not cheap but I seriously cant go back. Its really good for what I need - actual results at the top of the first page, based purely on what I searched for. What a concept. My needs are basic to be clear.
Theres also something to be said for simplicity with gear - hardware or software. To exagerrate things Korg MS-20 vs Korg Wavestation . The latter is fun, novel , now retro digital, but deep and complex. The MS20 is a just a mono synth. It sounds great with a gnarly filter and semi modular flexibility. But its a simple synth. So with either you could construct genius music. The process getting there for a beginner I would recommend the simpler approach.
With 4 synth tracks, and some FX , suddenly you're Tangerine Dream :)
An instrument doesn't have to tick every box. If it feels right in your hands and it encourages you to make music immediately, thats enough.
Have you dabbled with free options out there? Theres probably some decent stuff. Even the default synths in some DAWs can be usable in a mix.
I think you've mostly answered it yourself. Diva is probably a workflow experience closer to something like the synths used in classic electronic. As its a classic analog subtractive workflow youll probably learn those fundamentals as well. Pigments is newer, has a more novel workflow and more synthesis methods (wavetable, granular etc).
Full disclosure : have not used either. Have watched reviews in the past. If you've used both yourself, you're more qualified than me.
Eventually you’ll have both of course :) VST GAS is a thing too . Thats the long term implication.
Most AI systems work by reading the pixels of an image up close
In the case of text aren't LLM’s reading actual text ?Whats the usecase here ? For any text I dont want to be readable by ai scrapers and such, I need to use this font and render as image(s)?
Drumeo are threatening you with being “ left behind” if you don't upload your own recordings to their platform?
And it has something to do with so called ‘AI’
I smell a scam.
I’d be very interested in reading their license terms on whatever this is. For a laugh.
I respect your instincts not trusting this. I never used drumeo because I’m old (mainly). If you found use in it, then it must be disappointing and a real loss of trust to whatever degree there was any.
Sounds like youve already unsubscribed so you get the last laugh. GG . Again, keep drumming.
Huh? Any more context than that? (Or a vidlink?) . Where does the idiotic AI bubble overlap with drumming according to these genius practitioners and soothsayers?
I have a whole lot I’d like to say here but I’ll hold off until there’s more info.
The coinage is apt Cory. However I would have preferred instead of comparing Facebook to crab which have evolved through 1000s of years of sleek and appropriate adaptation, I’d suggest perhaps a rabid psychopathic hog eating its own offspring and choking on an overabundance of rotten food supplied to it by the same offspring who were force-fed brain rot feed by this megahog. Technopigheadedcannibalizuckerfucked . Not as elegant perhaps
I’m not convinced the distinction is necessary. It’s also wrong to say they don't discriminate in who they choose to exploit for profit . Many many examples of double standards occurring in different regions by the same corporation. Behaving in one way in the global north, then the opposite in the global South for example. Exploitation of labour for one. Yeh the name of the game is profit at all costs including human if they get away with it. But the scale compared to what an individual bad actor can achieve (though real and scary for sure) is not worth comparing. Companies ARE made up of human beings. Hiding behind incorporations and limited liabilities does not always shelter corporate bad actors in regions with proper regulation. Yeh plenty to be cynical about but still, dont give these blood thirsty profit seekers any free pass on their behavior.
and Google (classroom, chromebooks etc). Treating children as products is abuse.
“Once in a generation fundraising talent” and nothing more. This is more evidence of that. PRBS

Much like the underclass of those of us who cant afford to read the article.
TIL thanks

Thats my take. Snakeoil - rocketfuel blend

October 2015 article. I guess he was still leaking knowledge at that point. A different time in some ways, but theres been little progress in others.

Until then , don't stop drumming.

The anthropomorphism itself goes with this also.

It surely would. And free up alot of budget to invest instead in local
