Oh the city I grew up, what a surprise to see it here and I'm so glad about these news.
To be honest, meat is deeply ingrained in the Spanish culture, it feels that we will need a miracle to something like this becoming a national movement supported by its citizens. But anyway, I'm very thankful for any move in this direction.
It reminded me that if you browsed Reddit from Spain many of the ads were literal scams, like the typical fake photo of a celebrity or even the Spanish king recommending you to invest in a very fishy crypto platform.
Spanish users were complaining and reporting these ads for months but last time I checked these ads were still running.
The conclusion is that Reddit didn't even check who is running the ads and with what purpose as long as they pay them, and of course they don't give a crap if their users get scammed.
In my country, one of the most successful supermarkets is run by a fascist and he uses part of his fortune to finance our local fascist party, which is gaining strength every year by the way. Do we support fascism by buying in that supermarket? What if we suddenly started to boycott the supermarket to hell?
My point is that they earn profits by using their services and in today's society money is power. And from where the CEO got his power? From the millions of people with the mindset of "if it benefits me I don't care".
That's the logic of as long as it benefits ME I don't care and I support them no matter what they do. This same logic has been applied to all the shitty things done in history like slavery, war and so forth, and the reason the world is the way it is.
I follow the Gelug School from Tibetan Buddhism. The practice is a lot of study actually and reflection and meditation of that. We study texts of authors like Arya Nagarjuna, Lama Tsongkhapa, Shantideva and so forth... The meditation is analytical but we also practice Shamatha (single pointed concentration) as a fundamental practice. And we also study psychology and logic.
The foundation is what is called the "Three Principal Aspects of the Path", which I think it should be the same of other Mahayana schools: Renunciation, Bodhicitta and Wisdom of Emptiness. And all the meditations and study that comes from it
And after a solid foundation of these three is built then comes the practice of Tantra, which I can't say too much because I haven't reached that point yet.
On a note regarding relationship advice, that's so fucking true and I was always being downvoted there for pointing that out. I wonder how many relationships got broken because of Reddit's advice on some of the minor and normal relationship problems that could be solved by talking it out instead of "that's a red flag just dump them bro".
slrpnk.net doesn't require an email, makes it optional in case you want it for password recovery. And as far as I know it doesn't have the restrictions you mention.
It is an interview with a former neo-nazi who explains how he got into that, and how it works exactly as a cult. Nothing to do with Buddhism at least in a direct way but very interesting. If you can have some compassion with him, you may also have compassion with the people who are still in the cult and all their world is hate.
In the end it is all rooted in ignorance and the same to some extent can be also applied to us, our ideologies, our beliefs and so forth.
That is the problem, as much as possible is still 0. I already have all the alternatives installed in my phone but I can't use them if there is no one to talk to over there.
No one wants to do the effort to change even if this effort is to spend 5 minutes installing a free app. Why should I change? Then they look at me as Mr. TinfoilHat if I tell them the reasons. My only hope is Whatsapp turning to shit itself.
Honestly this is good news for me, please Zuck enshittify WhatsApp as much as you can. This is the only app I can't leave from them because literally my whole country refuses to use anything else than Whatsapp for messaging.

Of course that's not possible, the issue here is being aware and not caring and in some cases supporting it for convenience and selfishness.
That's the winner (Elijah Johnson) of the contest art organized by Reddit's former CEO Yishan Wong.
