For me, constantly knowing the exact percentage gives me anxiety. Seeing just a picture makes the battery look fuller and I feel less of a sense of urgency. I’m not a heavy phone user, so I very rarely have less than 40% at the end of my day.

I forget the channel names because it’s been awhile and I blocked them from my algorithm. But one literally yelled at his audience for criticizing his gross overuse of AI and the other person (who is white) started saying shit like “black fatigue.”

Dropped them both real quick.

No. I can understand how being around these people who didn’t take Covid seriously can reopen the wound. There are slight triggers for me, but most likely nothing compared to what OP is dealing with. Either way, I’m not going to tell people how to feel or even tell them to “get over it.” I can only express my opinion about my own feelings in my own life. I really do hope OP can find peace or a tangible solution.

I believe you and I are on the same page really. I do empathize, and yes, I do get angry (and I agree that anger is a necessary emotion at times), but I have to ask myself, is there something concrete I can accomplish or work toward? If so, I get to work. And if not, then I try to move on. I focus on what I can change instead of risking my own mental health focusing on things I cannot.

You do need to have some dissonance in order to be happy. The unfortunate truth is that we cannot fix everything going on around the world; we just aren’t equipped to handle such information as often as we do anyway (or so I’ve read). I stopped watching or reading most news and focus on my local communities for the sake of my own sanity, focusing on problems I can actually help with.

This is a difficult situation. There are many things one should be angry about, but one has few options to deal with it: either you can let it go and move on, actually try to do something about it (even if you fail or it takes a lifetime or not always possible), or just stay angry.

I’m not going to tell anyone how to feel, but I personally would either let it go or try to do something. I’ve lost people before and I refuse to feel that shitty all the time; it is hell.

Everyone 40s or younger where I work is so clearly sick of the shit. None of us are making as much as the older folks and they still go by the “good ole boy” system. I’m just grateful that we can control our own area, we take off whenever (provided we have the time), and our direct boss treats us well. Glad to see the kids these days understand this shit isn’t worth it anymore and are acting accordingly.

I really wish these people would just go home and lay down. Like, if my health was turning to shit the last place I’d wanna be is around a bunch of ghouls in congress. We really need term limits.

And I honestly would not want to live in a world where there is such instability. Even before electricity, one needed a stable community to thrive. Every time I watch an apocalyptic movie, I always think about how stressful and exhausting it would be to be a survivor, and hope to be one of the first to die. Even if things get better again, I will most likely never experience the levels of comfort I have become accustomed to within my lifetime. No thanks.

If you wiped out in your bike

This was in the late 1990’s. I fell off my bike and got myself scraped up pretty badly. I was nowhere near home, so my friends and I knocked on a random woman’s door and she patched me up. Headed home and freaked my mom out when she saw my arms.

That’s pretty much how I’ve always used it. Still call all mailmen “mailmen” regardless of gender. I’m not sure how important any of this is to the average person (no one seems to care in my day to day life).

I’m not anti-AI, but anti whatever fresh hell they are unloading unto the masses. This is something that requires careful planning to ensure we don’t devastate resources or stall critical think skills and knowledge.
