There is literally no situation where you would go, "I understand that this person at one point in there life made a mistake, but they have demonstrated that they have moved past that and at least they want to improve material conditions and they are not a literal Nazi"

Well said. I will vote for the least likely to be a fascist candidate every time and between those elections work towards getting a better candidate. Not every candidate is gonna be perfect. Bernie could have been more explicitly pro Palestinian for example but he also would have been a better Candidate than anyone else in the past 50+ years for president. Candidates are pieces on a game board. Not your friends.
If someone else ran they would dig up the skeletons in their closet too. We all have flaws. The difference is how how we respond to those flaws.
For instance, Pete Kegsbreath has a crusaders tattoo which isn't the problem I have with him. The problem is his white supremacist rhetoric and actions. That is what makes the tattoo the icing on the cake.
For Planter his rhetoric is obviously way more thoughtful. Its pro working class and anti elite. That makes his tattoo a red herring in his case.
Its the best chance we have at this time and if he changes when he is in office then we shift our strategy again. However given his recent conversations, I find that hard to believe that someone who has such a intelligent working class centered politics is somehow an op.

To me if it was between an actual Nazi and someone with a Nazi tattoo but progressive politics, then I would vote against the actual Nazi.
