Thank you for the thoughtful response.

For me, I think it boils down to one simple question that each of us confronts on a daily basis - in the face of injustice, what are you willing to do to combat it? Will you show up to city council meetings instead of going to bar trivia, for example? Will you put your own time and energy into putting yourself and your livelihood and your personal freedom at risk because your fellow Americans are being deported simply because their skin might be a little darker than yours?

How bad will it need to get before you're willing to change your life and your habits because your leadership has decided to steal from the public it is supposed to be serving?

Americans in the Los Angeles area knew what action to take in the face of injustice in May of 1992. Americans in 2026 seem to have lost the will to remind their corporate-sponsored overlords that they only govern through and by the consent of the governed.

This post is about a decade late. It's already like that or worse.

So, the real question is - what are you doing about it beside whining into the void? Don't reply to me.

Look yourself in the mirror and confront the fact that all of this is happening all around you while you refuse to deviate from your normal daily routine.

You're spending an awful lot of time telling me I don't get to reply to comments off my own thread. Maybe stop and realize that my original comment didn't need any replies and y'all are the ones wasting your time and energy arguing downthread instead of getting smart enough to go start your own thread if you want to express yourself.

It's 2026, not 1996. Its time to grow up and learn how threaded conversations work. They aren't new. It's awful weird that you're struggling so much with the concept.

But sure. Keep screeching "STFU" like a child. I'm sure that somehow, somewhere, someone on the internet might actually listen to you. But that someone is not me. I don't listen to the demands of children.

You don't see the deal breaker because your requirements are clearly low enough that open-core software works for your use case. Your experience is not universal. Your inexperience is leading you to believe you're more knowledgeable than you really are. I don't need to explain myself to someone that engages in bad faith arguments.

Let me guess, you chose Gitlab because you're a DHH fanboy?

Which memes? I'm not familiar. But, the attempts at joking about this product and the Charleton Heston movie are soooooooooo oooooooollllllld.

I've been eating Soylent for several years. I started with the powdered formulation v1.4; I did an experiment where I lived on only Soylent for about 5 months straight - I had no issues, I just got bored of not chewing things. I jumped to the premixed drinks when they arrived. I currently do Soylent for 1-2 meals and regular meals the rest of the day.

Most recently, I've been doing subscription shuffling because the current ownership is allowing the business to wither away because not enough people are doing monthly subscriptions. Right now, if you want pre-mixed drinks, chocolate is your best and maybe only option.

Can I see some of this documentation?

Sure. Go look it up for yourself. It isn't hard to find. You don't need my consent or permission to do your own homework. Nobody's going to do it for you.
