Pretty sure that the bridgy fed accounts are automatically created for popular instances/accounts. It is creating a post for every local ani.social post. So, here is the bridged post for a recent discussion thread from !anime@ani.social for example.

There is more information about the project on their site here.

Been a little bit since I popped into one of these threads. I haven't read the LNs of these, but here are some impressions of some of these series (in case I haven't mentioned them in the past):

  • An Introvert’s Hookup Hiccups: This Gyaru Is Head Over Heels for Me! - (I read the manga adaptation) - I ended up dropping this one because it was just really dull. The initial setup never really gives any kind of payoff. Instead, it is just two people that are both "pretending" to be in a relationship while super-duper being in a relationship.
  • If the Villainess and Villain Met and Fell in Love - (I am reading the manga adaptation) - This one has been interesting enough to keep my interest. It is a bit of a mashup of the Villainess genre (there is a broken off engagement with a jerk of a prince) and a weakest skill is actually the strongest (turns out her nameless contracted spirit is actually super powerful). It is pretty predictable, but it has been enough to keep me reading so far.
  • Fired? But I Maintain All the Software! - (I read what is available of the manga) - This is a power fantasy for the software developers out there. It's basically an exiled from the hero's party adapted to the modern workplace. The MC is fired by a jerk boss, only for all the software she built/maintained to fall apart after she left. Meanwhile she is off living her best life in a new job (including lots of cosplay).
  • The Fearsome Witch Teaches in Another World - (I read the manga) - I enjoyed what I read of this series but the TLs stopped (IIRC). Basically a teacher from Earth is isekai'ed and ends up as a magic teacher in this new fantasy world. Oh, also, she is super OP, because of course she is.

Spoiler blocks will work for both lemmy and PieFed...the ones formatted like this:

::: spoiler Spoiler Title
spoiler-y stuff here
:::

However, it makes the spoiler be on its own line, in its own collapsible section. That is often inconvenient if you just need to spoiler out a character's name from a sentence or something like that. I don't know rust nor have the inclination/time to learn, but I do know python. So, I added the functionality to PieFed and then chimed in on the lemmy github issue to try to influence lemmy to incorporate the feature as well. However, it seems like they are content to let the github issue sit open indefinitely instead.

In-line spoilers are a feature in PieFed that Lemmy hasn't adopted (relevant github issue). In PieFed, you can use either the >! spoiler !< syntax like reddit or the || spoiler || syntax like discord/telegram to create in-line spoilers. However, like you have seen here, lemmy won't render it as a spoiler.

Source: I coded it.

I love this manga and am really looking forward to an adaptation. I am guessing that they aren't doing a full adaptation, but there are some decent stopping points they could shoot for instead.

The main thing that won't make it to the anime are the top tier credit page jokes and memes that the scanlators used to add.

If there are no comments on an episode thread before the next episode airs, then subsequent threads are not created so that rikka isn't just filling the community with empty threads. I believe your comment on this thread came after episode 2 had already aired, so the show was already disabled for rikka.

At any time though, you can request a thread for a specific episode by sending a private message to the bot. Let me know if you run into issues.

Thanks for pointing this out. I try to fix these when I notice them, but I have been on vacation the past two weeks, so I haven't been as attentive as usual.

This duplication happens when rikka's attempt at making a post initially times out because ani.social doesn't respond, or responds super slowly. This means that rikka thinks that the post wasn't made successfully, so she will try to make the post again when she next runs. However, sometimes that first post still gets made, and we end up with a duplicate.

I am going to be posting a new weekly thread in a couple hours, so you might have some better luck if you repost this question there, but I have made a pass at some recommendations below. You have a lot of the recent ones I have enjoyed. Some others that come to mind:

  • Lycoris Recoil - Imagine John Wick but with anime girls
  • Villainess Level 99 - the animation quality isn't great, but the humor is and it wraps up nicely, not some cliffhanger that will never resolve
  • Mushishi - Anthology series...don't binge this one, take it slow and let your brain chew on each episode
  • Silent Witch - kind of like if you made Bocchi into an OP witch
  • 100 Girlfriends - Strap in to experience the best harem MC out there - Rentaro
  • Dungeon People - A great SoL about the folks working behind the scenes to make a dungeon work
  • Endo and Kobayashi - a fun take on the villainess genre; if you like tsunderes, you will like this one
  • Fruits Basket (2019) - one of the pillars of shoujo, and for a good reason
  • Slime 300 - a very laid back SoL, basically a CGDCT
  • Kino's Journey (2017) - anthology series...if you really like this, then you can watch the older 2003 series as well for some different stories
  • Love After World Domination - the red ranger falls in love with an enemy general...
  • Orb: On the Movements of the Earth - an anime about heliocentrism...yeah, it sounds weird as a premise, but it works...trust me.
  • Heavenly Delusion - Traveling across a post-apocalyptic Japan and things are kind of off...
  • Shimoneta - a world in which even the smallest dirty talk/gesture is literally illegal, meet the brave warriors fighting back against this censorship with the power of horny (note: don't watch this with anybody else in the room)
  • Yuri on Ice - dramatic ice skating (boys version) - Medalist is the girls version, but I haven't watched it, so I can't vouch for it, but I have heard good things.

Looks like Bodacious Space Pirates.

Fun fact - I visited Tokyo years ago when I had a friend living over there teaching English as part of the JET program. When I visited Ueno Park, there was a group of cosplayers in the park all in costumes from this show doing a photoshoot. I had no idea what show it was at the time, but figured it out years later when I came across a random image in a thread like this one and was able to piece it together.
