What kind of boring fuck has nothing to hide?

stoy@lemmy.zip · 28 pts · 2y

It is worse than that, you can't trust a person with nothing to hide.

If a person have nothing to hide, that means that by definition anything told to them will be pubic information.

I would never be able to trust someone like that, I need to be able to confide in my friends and know that the information will be kept private.

A person with no secrets can't be trusted.

Oh yeah! Well I don't care about my life because I have nothing to live for.

Kinda like how fascism isn't really that big of a deal, as long as you agree with all the life choices of your dictator

While they're searching up there, what if they find things that aren't illegal? Can you request they put them back?

Having nothing to hide isn't the problem. Not caring about privacy is. Activists, lawyers, journalists, doctors, politically opressed, some kinksters and the likes need protection!

When someone says they have nothing to hide it tells me two things about them:

  1. They are a liar
  2. They have something to hide

Everyone's a criminal if you look long and hard enough.

SharkAttak@kbin.social · 6 pts · 2y

Everyone's a criminal, depending on what is considered a crime.

I always ask the people who "have nothing to hide" if they also leave the door open when they go to a public restroom.

This is a quote from Edward Snowden btw.

Everyone should read his book.

How about I have a lot to hide but I'm too lazy to care about opsec lmao

pearsaltchocolatebar@discuss.online · 1 pts · 2y (1 reply)

If anyone tells you that, ask to dig through their underwear drawer.

MeDuViNoX@sh.itjust.works · 2 pts · 2y

It's not a drawer, it's a clothes basket in the living room and you're welcome to dive in any time.

inclementimmigrant@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 2y

People, especially guys, who say they have nothing to hide will still be using incognito mode for a few minutes a day.

I don't care about freedom of science and education because I'm dumb as shit
