The guy called MAGA a cult, threatened to sue Donald Trump and called him a bitch. Probably safer bet that what he did came from real mental illness than the weird, binary idea of politics shaping every component of a person's life.

Also, you do know you don't have to get your information from second hand sources, right? Here's the video in question (NSFL link, obviously). The guy's beliefs were entirely from his own delusions and, funny enough, seem to be sparked over his student loans not being forgiven.

His friends said he went bug fuck 10 years ago in college. While our political discourse was nuts back then, 2014 was nothing like today, not even close.
The man is likely schizophrenic and would have latched into something, even if the GOP didn't exist.
Having said that, it is not a pass for the right-wing machine. Prepare for more and more violence after the next election.

It’s cheap and it’s still a high.
When you’re needing a fix and you can’t afford anything else…. People do incredibly dumb shit out of desperation.
Same goes with alchoholism and Isopropyl alcohol or methylated ethanol (aka paint stripper,).
Or they’re kids who heard a thing and tried it cuz it was the only thing they can get. Remember, kids. If it was actually fun, your parents would warn you about it.
