I have sadly come around to thinking that online "sell stuff" websites are basically doomed to failure. Marketplace now owns the space, but boy howdy, Craigslist really dropped the ball. Craigslist, as near as I can tell, has never once moved a muscle to fight scammers on their site. It straight-up drove the big crowds off. You want to buy or sell something on Craigslist now, you're dealing with 100 scammers for every 1 legitimate user. But I really like a lot of things about Craigslist: local versions of the site for every metro area and free to use for buying and only charges for selling big shit or jobs. That seems like a decent monetization scheme.
OfferUp and their ilk came in and proposed to fix the problems Craigslist wouldn't, but clearly making money was their focus, not a good customer experience. They force you to use their shit app to post listings, they serve up shit search results like Amazon for things you don't want and didn't ask for. They serve ads for shit you don't need and they also allow users to post dead listings for years on end - all to pump up their numbers and turn a profit while rendering the site about half useless.
I had my SO search for things on Marketplace too and I remember being very frustrated by how shit it was, but I can't remember what it was that was so terrible. Something about their lack of filtering making it so you had to search through gobs of crap to find things.
Anyway I wish you luck, but the secret sauce for a successful site like this seems to be elusive.

I'm actually not sure I'm using it to call any tools, so I might have been overly optimistic sounding. I set it up so that HA tries to answer any incoming requests but when it doesn't understand something, it hands it to the AI. Reminders are not understood natively by HA, but I set up a pretty elaborate automation to handle it. As I understand it (I used Claude to help me set it up) the AI is parsing the {time} part of the automation, but it doesn't quite work right. Basically if I say "Hey Jarvis, remind me at 8:15 PM to move my truck" it works, but if I say "remind me in two hours to move my truck", it fails. I gotta spend some more time with it.
I'm using Voice PE to talk to it so I can say "hey Jarvis, blah blah blah" and if HA doesn't recognize what I'm asking (ie: HA/PE understands "set a timer for 30 minutes" and will set a timer for you) it passes it to the AI. If I ask it "who was in the Beatles?" it takes about 3 seconds to think and then will respond with "The Beatles consisted of.. <lists the members>".

The only thing that has really kept religion in check in this country is, ironically, their enmity toward each other due, ostensibly, to differences in eschatology. That has melted away as they have come to the realization that they are in danger of becoming irrelevant. Fortunately, the laity is extremely stupid and easy to manipulate (religion will do that to you) and have no idea what they really believe or what the differences are, so they are being led as if they are more monolithic by focusing their worship on what they all agree they love: money. They are also too stupid to realize that this is ironic.

When I get a song stuck in my head for too long (I'm musically minded and possibly have issues - this can go on for days and become quite obnoxious to me) I always concentrate and play Back in Black in my head. It gets stuck there and pushes out the other song but for some reason never sticks around itself for more than 24 hours.
My SO basically dragged me to the one in Santa Fe and it was one of the greatest things I've ever experienced. I thought it was gonna be you know, modern art, mildly interesting but ultimately boring, but I was wrong. It's unbelievably cool. Words fail me in explaining how fascinating the idea and its execution are.
When she first blew up all I would hear about her is how dumb she was, how stupid she was, what a lightweight she was, but everything I ever heard her say made eminent sense and sounded frankly intelligent.
These comments were largely coming from the chudiverse and Fox News, but I realized it was working when a not-conservative-minded relative of mine made an offhand comment along the lines of "everyone knows she's not very smart." I responded very directly with a light challenge like "oh, could you point me to something she's said that's not very smart because everything I've ever heard her say is pretty fucking brilliant."
I knew full well this person would immediately try and dig something up - but she must've come up empty because now she's a fan. I actually think she learned a lesson about how that kind of shit can work on your without you even realizing it.
Yeah as I was reading this screed all I kept thinking was "what the fuck website is this guy reading" because I'm on here every day and I don't see anything that looks like what this guy is describing. I don't scream or yell or fight or issue death threats to anybody, I read thoughtful shit and I ignore thoughtless shit and I live my life.
This has to be some kind of mental illness. If you find someone truly offensive, and I haven't really - how about... you know, block them? Oh, no no, imma sit down and stealth-edit my frontend script to block them for everybody and then get all butthurt when I get caught. Lashing out and blaming everybody else - so hot right now.
A decent Diablo-like hack and slash with addictive gameplay for sure. If you get it on sale, it's worth it if you like the genre. It does have some bad design decisions.
The bad: even when you're not in a dungeon, the map is always pathways, not open. This plus no quest markers and only one travel gate open at a time means you do a lot of mindless looking around for stuff and painful backtracking. The procedural equipment drops are tedious though they can be filtered. Their naming conventions are overly-verbose and terrible. The soundtrack gets repetitive.
The good: the game's skills and trees make sense and make you can feel pretty OP if you give it some effort and thought. The crafting is actually useful and you get a generous amount of storage (that can be upgraded to ridiculous levels). The lore is deep and if you're into that, there's a lot of it and it's fairly original.
I don't understand, what instance uses this? If they filter the listed words does that mean posts containing them won't show? That would make conversations on Lemmy incoherent with gaps and wipe out probably 50% of the content?
