matrix is another federated platform, but for chatting. The most popular client is Element, which is a web app. just make yourself an account and dm me your account name and I'll add you to the room that I make!!

I get an error from Element that says "the application is not able to create an account on this homeserver. Do you want to signup using a web client?"
Saying Yes to this prompt brings me to a dead link.
What am I missing?

There may be an issue with sign up on the phone app, but log in should work once you have an account

there's websites out there to compare servers based on their listed policies, I use catgirl.cloud because it looks pretty good on paper, haven't been using it for very long though so idk
